Our theme for this month’s Stampin’ Fancy Friday is “Something Blue.” If you know me, you know I LOVE blue, so this was probably one of my favorite challenges to date. Blue makes me think of water, the ocean, and waves. It’s a tranquil color that soothes my soul. And, that’s why I decided to use the Waves of Inspiration Stamp Set. It’s one of my all-time favorites. I absolutely love the large wave image!
To see all the designers’ projects, keep an eye on the Stampin’ Fancy Friday Facebook and Instagram pages throughout the month. We’d also love to see any of your projects using our theme! Be sure to tag them with @stampinfancyfriday so we can find and admire them!
To create my wave, I embossed the image in white on Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper and then watercolored it with Coastal Cabana, Azure Afternoon, and Night of Navy ink. I hadn’t used this stamp set for a while, so it was fun to use a current color combination and bring it back to life. Afterwards, I die-cut the detailed wave from Basic White Cardstock and used a Wink of Stella Glitter Brush to add sparkle to the die-cut before adhering it.
Next, I framed my wave with an Everyday Details Die. Be sure to check these dies out on page 28 of the JA Mini Catalog, because they are a little hidden gem. I love the tiny dots surrounding the frame!
What wave would be complete without some palm trees? I couldn’t resist pulling out my retired Palms Dies to add a few silhouettes, watercolored with the same colors as the wave.
The Waves of Inspiration Stamps has great sentiments and the coordinating Waves Dies also include some fantastic labels! I heat embossed this sentiment in white on Night of Navy Cardstock and then used some Wavy Trim to attach it to the card.
Final details include a Linen Thread bow and some Tinsel Gems.
I hope I’ve inspired you to pull out your Waves of Inspiration Stamps and give it a fresh look.
Have a wonderful and creative day!
