Recently, I was browsing through my stash of retired stamp sets and I came across the Sip, Sip Hooray stamp set. I realized it was PERFECT for my daughter’s big 25th birthday this year. (I had already made her a “rainbow cats” card, but she loves my cards, so I decided to make another.)
Since this birthday is a big milestone, my daughter decided to rent a BRB in Temecula and invite a bunch of her girlfriends to help celebrate. I image there will be some wine tasting involved, so that’s what prompted this card.
This card is really a mix of old and new products. In the background, I used a sheet of By The Bay 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper. I love the colors, which includes Petal Pink, a color that reminds me of ballet pink and all the years of my daughter’s dance classes. I fondly remember many hours hand sewing ribbons on pretty, new ballet pink pointe shoes.
The background also features a fantastic new Online Exclusive – Radiating Stitches Dies!!! They were a must have for me. I see them as a new “go to” basic product that I can use on numerous projects.
I stamped all the glasses on Shimmery White Cardstock with Stazon Ink so I could watercolor them. Then, I stamped the fruit and leaves with coordinating ink colors. For images with two colors, such as the strawberry, I inked up the strawberry with Merry Merlot and then colored the leaf directly onto the stamp with a Pear Pizzazz Stampin’ Write Marker. Afterwards, I watercolored the images with a very dry brush so the ink didn’t bleed too much.
I embossed the sentiment from Sip Sip Hooray in gold and cut it out with a Fabulous Frames Die.
On the inside, I used the Alphabet A La Mode Dies to cut the “25’s” from By The Bay DSP and added a greeting from Artistically Inked.
I love designing custom cards! There’s such a great sense of accomplishment when I know I’ve created something meaningful and full of love.
