It’s time for another 2020 Desktop Calendar! For September (my birthday month!), I chose two of my favorites … Floral Essence stamps and Perennial Essence Designer Series Paper. I love watercoloring, and these stamps bring out the inner artist in me. Plus, the coordinating paper is simply the most gorgeous I’ve ever seen.

Speaking of paper, this paper is on sale right now!!! Stampin’ Up!’s Buy 3 Get 1 Free sale includes the Perennial Essence Designer Series Paper. Be sure to take advantage of this special before it ends on September 30, 2019.
My 2020 desktop calendars measure 4″ x 6″ and fit in a standard frame. My goal is to design one a month for the following year, and that way I have eight full sets to give away as Christmas gifts.
I started by watercoloring a wash in the background using Balmy Blue ink. Then, I embossed the flower in white on Shimmery White Cardstock and watercolored it with Blackberry Bliss and Blushing Bride ink. Afterwards, I cut out the flower by hand.

To create the leaves, I used a direct-to-rubber technique. I colored the rubber with the brush end of my Balmy Blue and Old Olive Stampin’ Write Markers. Then, I spritzed the rubber with a little bit of clear water prior to stamping on Shimmery White Cardstock. The water blends the ink slightly and creates a beautiful watercolored look. After the leaves dried, I punched them out with the Leaf Punch.
For contrast, I also added some Old Olive Vellum leaves.
For the month, I used a retired stamp set called Date It, which I embossed in white on Balmy Blue Cardstock. Instead, you could substitute any similar stamp set or small alphabet set.

I created the calendar pages using My Memories Suite software. You can download a printable JPEG HERE. Print the September calendar on Shimmery White Cardstock with the smallest margins possible for your printer. The print is colored Old Olive. I designed the pages to go all the way to the edges of a standard 8-1/2″ x 11″ sheet of cardstock. Trim as follows:

Only three months to go! I can’t believe how quickly the time goes by. Watch my blog for future 2020 calendar months.
Have a wonderful and creative day!
