There are some really amazing products you can earn for free during Sale-A-Bration this year. One of those is the Springtime Foils Specialty Designer Series Paper, which happens to be one of my all-time favorites. This paper is a level 1 Sale-A-Bration product, which means you can earn it for free when you make a purchase of $50! But, remember that Sale-A-Bration ends on March 31, 2018. So don’t wait!
The specialty paper comes in white with preprinted designs in silver, gold, and rose foil as seen below. For my card, I used two different designs and coloring methods.
Springtime Foils Specialty Designer Series Paper — Level 1 Sale-A-Bration product (Earn for free with $50 purchase):
For the background of my card, I used a sponge and Night of Navy ink to color the paper. The silver foil resists the ink. This is a super easy coloring technique you can use to make the paper any color you want. Isn’t it gorgeous looking?
I cut out the flower from another sheet of the specialty paper. Then, I used Stampin’ Blends to color it including both light and dark markers of the following colors: Daffodil Delight, Calypso Coral, and Old Olive. The Springtime Foils paper has a very unique quality that makes coloring super fun and easy. There’s a little bit of a glossy finish to the paper. As a result, the Blends markers dry a little quicker than normal and don’t completely blend. However, I love the end result because it looks painted, and you know how much I love watercoloring!!!
I started with the darker colors and then gradually added the lighter ones. Each time I added a new shade or color, I went over the previous color to blend.
If you look closely, there is another Sale-A-Bration product on my card, the gray shimmer ribbon! The 3-pack of ribbon is another level 1 product you can earn for free before March 31st.
To finish off my card, I added a sentiment from the Cake Soiree stamp set embossed in gold, a little punched Gold Foil border, and then swirled some gold mini sequins. It’s funny, I was playing around with adding the sequins and they just fell that way. I looked at it and thought, oh I like that! I already had dimensionals on the back of my flower, so I just stuck it down and said “done!” Ha! Sometimes things just work that way.
