Hi Stamping Friends! Today I’m sharing some Paper Pumpkin projects. I love getting Paper Pumpkin kits this time of year, because they frequently include Christmas cards or super cute gift bags, and it takes the stress out of holiday crafting. These kits are also FANTASTIC for beginner stampers and make great gifts!
I typically make about 70 Christmas cards, and sometimes I need some simple ones that I can assemble quickly. Paper Pumpkin to the rescue! Stampin’ Up! does all the designing and provides everything I need to make the cards. The Nests of Winter Paper Pumpkin Kit included beautiful Shaded Spruce foiled accents, tri-fold cards, and all the supplies needed to make 10 beautiful cards in two styles.
I always like to take the contents of the kit and then add some inspiring personal touches. So this time, I used the coordinating add-on Merry Tags & More Dies (available to Paper Pumpkin customers to purchase), as well as several coordinating products from the Nests of Winter Suite Collection, including the Winterly Tree Top Bundle and Nests of Winter Designer Series Paper. The cards above include the two from the kit and one where I replaced the cardinal with some birds die-cut from the Nests of Winter DSP.
Note that some of the Nests of Winter Dies coordinate with the DSP so it’s super easy to cut out the pre-painted images.
The cute red ribbon behind the sentiment came in the kit, and then I added some Earth Tone Shimmer Gems, the “merry” die-cut from Real Red Cardstock using the add-on dies, and a few pine die-cuts from the Winterly Tree Tops Dies.
The kit also included 10 of these darling coordinating envelopes.
Here’s a few photos of the tri-fold design of one of the cards.
I used the Paper Pumpkin stamps for the sentiment and then added a die-cut from the Nests of Winter DSP.
The Merry Tags & More Dies add-on coordinates with the October – December Paper Pumpkin kits and is only available to purchase for current subscribers. (Item 165639 for $12.00 USD)
I took a few of the leftover pieces from the kit and created two alternative cards.
For this first one, I used the add-on dies to cut a tag from one of the punch outs from the kit and Real Red, Shaded Spruce, and Night of Navy Cardstock. Then, I added die-cuts from the Nests of Winter DSP. In the background, I used the Snowflake Sky 3D Embossing Folder to dry emboss the layer and then I dragged my White Craft ink pad over the raised portions.
For this next card, I used one of the punch outs from the kit as the main focus point. (Never throw away ANY Paper Pumpkin scraps! Ha!) I layered that arch shaped piece over a sheet of Nests of Winter DSP that I dry embossed with the Birch Wood 3D Embossing Folder for added texture.
Next, I stamped the floral arch from the Winterly Tree Tops stamps with Stazon ink and watercolored it with Real Red, Pool Party, Shaded Spruce, and Night of Navy ink. To make the “merry” really stand out, I layered 5 die-cuts on top of each other with liquid glue.
The next Paper Pumpkin kit looks SOOOO cute! Subscribe by November 10 (tomorrow) to get this darling kit with fabric stocking gift holders. I’ve seen an example of the stockings, and you’re going to be surprised how large they are! They definitely appear large enough to hold a gift card, so they’d be perfect for co-workers, teachers, and neighbors!
