Onstage Swaps — Rolling Waves | Swimming In Stamps

Last week, I attended Stampin’ Up! OnStage in Long Beach, California. OnStage is a three-day event for demonstrators to gather together, share ideas, learn business practices, previews new products and watch demonstrations. It’s a total blast and something I look forward to every year!

One of my favorite things about OnStage is seeing old friends and meeting new ones. Each year, all the past Artisans gather toghter to visit, take photos, and swap projects! I have to be honest, I feel a lot of pressure to come up with a really good swap for this talented group! Ha! So I thought it would be fun to share.

My swaps this year feature the Rolling Waves Bundle. I knew immediately that I had to get it, because I love beach-themed products. Plus, it seemed like the perfect bundle to use for OnStage in Long Beach!!!

This was my first time using the bundle, so I had a few fits and starts, but I LOVE the end result and felt proud to share them. It represents me … I love blues and turquoise, the beach, and water. I also love techniques and watercoloring.

I used Blending Brushes to add different ink combinations to Basic White Cardstock and then added water splatter. I used Azure Afternoon and Coastal Cabana ink for the bottom layer of the ocean, Pool Party and little bit of Coastal Cabana ink for the middle layer of the ocean, Crumb Cake and Petal Pink for the sand in the background, and Petal Pink and Pretty In Pink ink for the shells. After drying the paper, I die-cut the layers.

I also cut layers of the ocean from Basic Whte Cardstock and Vellem. Then, to make the sand look wet, I stamped a water image with Versamark and heat embossed it in clear.

The sentiment is die-cut with a Spotlight In Nature die. I thought it looked a little natical. 🙂
