Welcome to a new What Will You Stamp? challenge. The featured stamp set for What Will You Stamp this week is Oh So Eclectic. This is one of my all time favorites from the Annual Catalog. It’s just a great stamp set, with coordinating Eclectic Layers Thinlits Dies. I’ve used in many, many times and will continue to do so.

For my project this week, I decided to go with an elegant theme, using classic monotone colors and shimmer paint! I’m obsessed with shimmer paints!!! They are SO BEAUTIFUL, easy to use, and versatile. As I was crafting this weekend, I realized that I was using them on all my projects, so I light bulb went and on , and I realized that I need to feature them in all my class projects this month. Seriously, you’ve got to try them. You are just going to LOVE them!!!
Shimmer paints are available in the Holiday Catalog in four different colors, including Frost White (used here), Champagne Mist, Bright Copper, and Vegas Gold. All four colors are available to purchase in just two days on September 5th!!! I have to confess that I pre-ordered them all, because they are literally to die for!
My color palette included Petal Pink, Calypso Coral, Blushing Bride, and Crumb Cake, along with Frost White Shimmer Paint.
There are loads of different things you can do with shimmer paints. For this card, I used several techniques. I used a Sponge Dauber to place Frost White Shimmer Paint directly onto the leaf stamp. Then, I stamped on Crumb Cake and Shimmery White cardstock.
In addition, I used a sponge dauber to add a little Frost White Shimmer Paint to the center of my stamped flowers. (Flowers were previously stamped using my “watercolor stamping technique.” I inked up the stamp with Blushing Bride, and then used a Sponge Dauber to add Calypso Coral ink directly to the rubber. Afterwards, I used an Aqua Painter to brush water onto the stamp, and then stamped on Shimmery White cardstock. For the half flower, I used Petal Pink and Calypso Coral ink.)
Lastly, I mixed a little Frost White Shimmer Paint with Calypso Coral ink, picked it up with my Aqua Painter, and used the cap of the Aqua Painter to flick splatters on my card base. Then, I repeated the process with just the Frost White Shimmer Paint. (While I was practicing, I splattered a scrap piece of Crumb Cake cardstock, and I ended up using it for my sentiment!)
