For my October 2018 desktop calendar, I used the Pick A Pumpkin bundle from the Holiday catalog. I particularly love the detailed pumpkin outline die cut and swirls. They’re so pretty! I also adore the various pumpkins and leaf shapes. You can use this bundle to make cutesy projects with Jack-O-Lanterns, or more elegant projects like this one.
I used colors from a recent Global Design Project color challenge, including Tangerine Tango, Peekaboo Peach, and Lemon Lime Twist. The projects from that challenge were so pretty and inspiring that I thought they’d make beautiful calendar pages.
While this page included a lot of die cutting, it’s actually pretty simple to put together. I die cut the largest circle Stitched Shape Framelit die from watercolor paper, and then used an Aqua Painter to watercolor it with Tangerine Tango and Peekaboo Peach ink. Then, I cut the solid dies from Tangerine Tango and Lemon Lime Twist cardstock (with Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets attached on the back) and used a Sponge Dauber to shade with matching ink. For the small pumpkins, I stamped them with Tangerine Tango and Peekaboo Peach ink on Very Vanilla cardstock, and then used an Aqua Painter to quickly add a few brushstrokes and shading. I did a similar thing with the detailed leaves.
I stamped the “October” with the retired Project Life Date It stamp set using Tangerine Tango ink on Very Vanilla cardstock. Afterwards, I punched it out with a Classic Label punch.
