I can’t believe Christmas is only a little more than a week away! I have been scrambling to get everything done, especially after the whole family was hit with a horrible viruses right after Thanksgiving. My poor husband ended up getting pneumonia! It put me a good two weeks behind!!!
I had such good intentions at the beginning of the month, with lots of project ideas for handmade gifts. While I finished many of them, I have not had a chance to write them up for my blog, so I’m going to attempt to catch up this week.

Today, I’m sharing one of my Christmas card designs. I sent out several different ones, but this was one of my favorites. I love plaid and ALL of the Festive Farmhouse Designer Series Paper (DSP). I vowed to try and use every single scrap!

I got inspiration for this card from the November Paper Pumpkin (see below — I made all my cards, but ended up using all the supplies, so I never got around to coming up with alternative ideas.)
I love the combination of plaid and wood, and the Festive Farmhouse DSP has both in one packet! I also love the darling wood elements from this suite, which unfortunately sold out very early.

The main focus of these cards is the pine tree from the Winter Woods bundle. I used Shimmery White Embossing Paste to add snow to the branches. It was a little time consuming to add this snow to 14 cards, but after a while I figured out a system that sped things up. I fluffed out the branches first and then curled the tree around one hand to make the branches stick out and easier to “butter” with a palette knife.
Tip: Let the embossing paste dry overnight to ensure it’s less likely to break off.

As you can see, I have a few versions of this card. I ran out of wood elements, so I added a white embossed greeting on the others.
Here are the Paper Pumpkin cards I used as inspiration. The November kit was one of my favorites of all time.

The November Paper Pumpkin kit was chalk full of supplies! I got all this for only $19.95, which was enough to make 10 cards!!! Take note of the darling plaid lined envelopes and Cherry Cobbler Braided Linen Trim!!! So cute.

Have a wonderful day!
