The end of May is looming closer, and that means two things. Retiring products are going away, and new products are coming!!!
I’m using several retiring products on my card today, including the Heart Happiness and Happy Celebrations stamp sets, and Pink Pirouette Stampin’ Blends Markers, ink pad, and cardstock. I needed to make a baby card for a neighbor, and I had very limited supplies to pick from. Honestly, I’m in a stage of my life where I don’t need to make many baby cards. When I was wrapping the gift, I noticed that the paper was covered in lots of sweet pink hearts, so that inspired me to come up with this card.
You can see lists of the retiring products on the Catalogs Tab of my blog HERE, or by going to my online store (which is the most up-to-date, because they are only available while supplies last.)
For the sentiment, I combined stamps from a couple sets. I used the “Welcome” from Banners for You and part of the “New Baby!” stamp from Happy Celebrations. To only use part of the stamp, I inked up the whole stamp and then covered the word “New” with some old washi tape before stamping.
To create a 3-D look with the banner, I stamped it twice with Tuxedo Black Memento ink on Whisper White cardstock, and then cut out the top layer so I could pop-it up with some dimensionals. Afterwards, I colored it with Stampin’ Blends Markers, and then stamped the “Welcome” to get a nice crisp image.
I used a similar technique to color the small flower. However, this time I add some extra colors with a Blender Pen and Lemon Lime Twist and Melon Mambo ink.
The rest of this card is fairly self explanatory; there were just a few tricky things. I stamped off once for all the Melon Mambo hearts to soften the color. Also, I cut up the Bunch of Banners double-banner die cut so I could widen it across the card front.
Additional retiring products used on this card include Sweet and Sassy Framelits Dies (used to cut out all the hearts), Glitter & Clear Epoxy Shapes (great for accents especially with the Bubble Over stamps and coordinating dies), 1/4″ Organza Ribbon (perfect for coloring with Stampin’ Blends or ink filled Spritzers), and Enamel Shapes.
I love the Quilt Textured Impression Embossing Folder in the background. It made me think of a sweet, white quilt a friend made when my daughter was born.
