Global Design Project 144

This week at the Global Design Project, they have a challenge to CASE (copy and selectively edit) designer Charlet Mallett.  Charlet is a one of the members of the 2018 Artisan Design Team, and a fellow member of the TGIF Challenges design team!  She is super talented, and I seriously love every single project she designs.  So I couldn’t let this challenge pass me by!

For my project, I CASEd Charlet’s general layout and the idea of using flowers.  I changed up the colors, designer papers and stamp set to make it my own.

I used my new favorite stamp set, Tropical Chic along with some Wood Textures Designer Series Paper.  (That paper is on sale during the whole month of July!  (Buy 3, Get 1 Free!)  I love the combination of the bright flowers with the dark wood background.

To create my flowers, I used a watercolor stamping technique, similar to the technique I described on last Friday’s post.  I inked up the stamp with Mango Melody, then used a sponge dauber to add Poppy Parade ink to the center.  Afterwards, I brushed the stamp with an Aqua Painter and then stamped on Shimmery White Cardstock.  After the ink dried, I used a Poppy Parade Stampin’ Write Marker to add some detail to the center of the flower.

For the die cut ferns in the background, I cut them out of Shimmery White Cardstock and then used an Aqua Painter to watercolor them with Granny Apple Green and Garden Green ink.
