Exciting things are happening at Stampin’ Up! The 2023-2024 Annual Catalog will be going live May 2, 2023!!! In anticipation, demonstrators got a chance to preview the catalog and pre-order select items so we could start planning, and creating projects and classes. (If you want to join in on the fun, contact me and learn more about becoming a demonstrator!)
This year, the catalog also includes a Color Refresh. Every so often, Stampin’ Up! re-evaluates it’s 40 Core Colors and makes adjustments to keep the color palette fresh and on trend. (The last time was 2018.) Today, I’m going to introduce the new colors. Some are totally new and some you may recognize from previous In Colors. These colors will replace the 11 retiring colors that I listed in a previous post.
Do you have any immediate favorites? I love blues and bright colors, so Azure Afternoon and Berry Burst really stood out. I’m also thrilled that Fresh Freesia (a 2021-2023 In Color) is not retiring, but joining the Core Subtles family.
In addition, the new 2023-2025 In Colors were announced. These colors will only be available for two years. They enhance the Core Colors and pair beautifully with each other. If you look around at what’s new in fashion, you’ll notice these colors. It’s pretty amazing considering Stampin’ Up! starts working on these colors two years in advance!
What do I love about new colors? To me, they mean EVERYTHING. New colors ignite my imagination and make everything old new again. They are on the top of my wish list before anything else and I can’t wait to start playing with them.
To spark your creativity with all these fresh new colors, I have a few tips for figuring out great new color combinations:
- Download an updated Color Coach HERE.
- Pick 3-4 favorites from a color family
- Pick colors from your favorite designer series paper (Stampin’ Up! already did the work for you)
- Copy a color combination from a page in the catalog
- Pick complementary colors (colors opposite each other on the color wheel, such as blue/orange, purple/yellow, red/green) to grab attention and show joy and happiness
- Pick analogous colors (colors next to each other on the color wheel, such as red, orange, yellow) for a more soothing or elegant vibe
- Pick one color or several shades of the same color (such as all blues or all purples)
- Try black/white and one color
Are you feeling overwhelmed and don’t know what to order first? Here’s a suggestion. Browse through the new catalog when you receive it and pick your favorite suite or designer series paper. Then, purchase the inks, papers, and possibly some embellishments that coordinate with those products. You can build up your collection at your own pace.
I can’t wait to start creating and share these great new colors with you!
