One of my favorite suites in the Holiday Catalog is Feels Like Frost on pages 40 to 42. I seriously love everything about this suite, especially the gorgeous Frosted Frames Dies and Feels Like Frost 6″ x 6″ Specialty Designer Series Paper. The beautiful, photographic images are so inspirational!
Creating with these products makes designing handmade cards easy! For this card, I started with a 3″ wide layer of the designer series paper and then used the color combination to enhance the rest of my card.
The bottom layer of my card includes a sheet of Mercury Glass Designer Acetate that I colored with Stampin’ Blends Markers. I got this brilliant idea from Cheryll Miller, who created some amazing projects for the September Stampin’ Sunday Blog Hop. I used Seaside Spray, Rococo Rose, and Highlander Heather Stampin’ Blends to color the backside of the Mercury Glass.
Because the Feels Like Frost 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper is so pretty, I didn’t want to cover up too much of it with a large label. So I decided to use a partial die cutting technique to shortened the Frosted Frames Die label. I cut out the top 2/3 of the die and then re-positioned the die to cut out the bottom. The trick is to place the edge of the cutting mat where you want the die to stop cutting.
I also trimmed down the intricate leaf die to fit behind my shortened label. (I simply cut the die diagonally with scissors and pieced it together behind the label.)
I cut the leaf and snowflake dies from Whisper White Cardstock and then used Shimmery Crystal Effects dipped in Ice Stampin’ Glitter to decorate the edges.
Final details include some Frosted Epoxy Droplets, Silver Thread, and white embossed sentiment.
I’m so excited to be showcasing this suite at the TGIF Challenges VIP Pre-Party in Las Vegas in November!
Have a wonderful and creative day.
