Paper Pumpkin Kits are so fun, especially if you have limited time to craft and want to bang out a bunch of great cards. The monthly kits have unique and varied themes. The examples above use the May Explore In Color Kit. I absolutely LOVE this kit!
If you haven’t heard of Paper Pumpkin, check out my blog page. I love that I can choose which kits I want to receive. It’s super easy to manage my subscription to opt in or out each month. There are also prepaid subscriptions available with discounts and includable in workshop orders!
Here’s a closer look at the May 2023 kit:
The kit includes everything you need to make the cards above, except adhesive and scissors.
I confess that I don’t post about Paper Pumpkin often. I truly wish I had more time to play with every kit. But I do order them several times a year, especially lately. There have been so many great kits that I couldn’t resist. Sometimes I need to make quick cards, and I find that Paper Pumpkin Kits really fit the bill. I like taking a break from designing and mindlessly following the directions. Other times, I see great ideas on social media and simply copy or CASE them. Bottom line, whether you’re a beginner or seasoned crafter, Paper Pumpkin Kits are fantastic!
While Paper Pumpkin Kits are technically a surprise each month, I routinely post a sneak peek photo of the next kit on the side bar of my blog around the 10th of each month. Sign up by the following 10th to receive that kit.
In addition to the May Explore In Color Kit, I used the coordinating Explore In Color Cards and Envelopes add-on and a few extra supplies. I love, love, love the outdoor theme!!! They are great for anyone who loves nature, but especially guys. I typically struggle making masculine cards, so this kit was an absolute must have.
The birthday card above was for a co-worker. I was inspired by a card designed by Charlet Mallet, from the 2023 Artisan Design Team. I love the dry embossed layer with the circle die-cut. I used the Timber 3D Embossing Folder and Pebbled Path Cardstock. Afterwards, I used a Blending Brush to add a little Pebbled Path ink around the outside edges and emphasize the embossing.
I stamped the hiking boot with Memento ink and colored it with Copper Clay and Pebbled Path Stampin’ Blends. Then, I added an Enamel Sticker Icon (colored with a Wild Wheat Stampin’ Blends Marker) and some Copper Clay Textured Ribbon. Easy peasy.
The next card (above) is for another co-worker. The kit card bases can easily be turned into a fun fold! I used the leftover circle die-cut from the first card and dry embossed it with the Twisted Rope 3D Embossing Folder this time. Then, I add more of the same ribbon and an enamel embellishment colored with a Mossy Meadow Stampin’ Blend Marker.
Here’s what the card looks like when opened. The back is white, so we can all sign there.
For the next two cards, die cut the card bases from the kit with the Countryside Corners Dies and added dry embossed layers using the Twisted Rope 3D Embossing Folder.
The Linen Thread came in the kit, so I looped and frayed it for a masculine look. While the Enamel Sticker Icons on several of these cards are now retired, they were just too perfect to pass up.
After cutting the die for the front of the card, I had enough of the printed card base left to add a little strip in the inside!
This last card is for my son to give my husband. They love fishing together, especially in the High Sierra, so it was perfect. After embossing the sentiment in gold on Pebbled Path Cardstock, I used the Nested Essentials Dies to cut it out. The fishing pole die-cut is from a retire set called Rugged Icons.
These are just quick and simple ideas to create alternate projects. There are lots more on Instagram and Pinterest. Now you know why I love these kits.
Here’s a sneak peek of the next Paper Pumpkin Kit. Subscribe by July 10th to receive the Fun In The Sun Kit. And, yes I’m getting it. How could I not?
