Yesterday was my monthly Stamp Club, and I always create a fun door prize to give away during class. This time, I decided to use the beautiful Striped Gift Bags. The gold foil on these bags make an elegant gift, and they come at a bargain! (10 bags for only $5.50)
I thought I’d play off the gold foil on the bag and use gold accents to decorate, including a Stitched Label cut from Gold Foil, gold embossing for the sentiment, Gold Foil leaves, and some of the new metallic pearls! I love the contrast of the gold with the brightly colored stamps. It really makes the colors pop.
I stamped the Tropical Chic flowers with Melon Mambo ink and the leaves with Costal Cabana and Granny Apple Green ink on Shimmery White Cardstock. For the flowers, I stamped off once and then used a Sponge Dauber to add more color in the center. Afterwards, I went over the stamped image with an Aqua Painter to blend the ink. Then, when the flowers dried, I added detail with a Melon Mambo Stampin’ Write Marker.
For the stamped leaves, I inked up the stamp with Coastal Cabana ink and then added Granny Apple Green ink directly onto the rubber with a Sponge Dauber before stamping on Shimmery White Cardstock. This give a pretty variegated look.
For the die cut leaves, I simply cut them out of Shimmery White Cardstock and then watercolored them with Coastal Cabana and Granny Apple Green ink.
Lastly, I added some accents of Gold Sequin Mini Trim and Whisper White 5/8″ Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon before adhering it all together.
