Creativity Now — Sneak Peeks

By | July 2, 2024

A little over a week ago, I had the opportunity to attend Creativity Now. This is a super fun online event that Stampin’ Up hosts annually for demonstrators. It includes lots of hands on crafting, sneak peeks, and behind the scenes presentations. And what’s even better is that my mom drove into town to join me!!! We love attending Stampin’ Up! events together; she’s my little crafting buddy!!!

All the crafting centered on the new Wintery Tree Tops Bundle from the upcoming September–December 2024 Mini Catalog. This bundle is part of the Nests of Winter Suite Collection and I think you’re going to love it!

This first card features the bundle along with the beautiful Birch Wood 3D Embossing Folder in the background. I colored the images with Ivory, Crumb Cake, and Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Blends Markers. I also used the coordinating Earth Tone Shimmer Gems on most of my projects.

This next card shows off the fantastic coordinating Wintery Tree Top Dies. I love that background frame! I enhanced it with a little Misty Moonlight ink blending and then colored the images with Watercolor Pencils! After coloring, I used a Water Painter to lightly paint over the pencil turning it into watercolor. Behind the sentiment is some coordinating Natural Tones Linen Thread!!! Soooo cool!

On this next card, we used the negative cut-out from the frame on the card above as a stencil to apply Mossy Meadow ink with a Blending Brush. After applying a heavy layer of ink, we repositioned the stencil in the opposite direction and blended in more ink with a much lighter hand. I love this background effect! I again colored the birds with Watercolor Pencils, but this time on colored paper. Don’t you love the white pencil highlighting the birds’ heads and chest?

The last project was a Scalloped Gift Card Box. We started out by applying copper and gold Metallic Enamel Effects on top of the box with a palette knife. What a creative idea! The wreath was formed with two bough images that we stamped with Memento ink and blended with Mossy Meadow ink. Afterwards, I colored the leaves with Mossy Meadow Stampin’ Blends and then used the Metallic Enamel Effects to add the berries.

I thought this box would work perfectly for Christmas, so I exchanged the sentiment for one from the Merriest Trees Stamp Set and added some retired Simply Elegant Trim.

Hope you enjoyed this little sneak peek of fun products to come!

Best wishes,
