Color Fusers Blog Hop – March 2026

By | March 2, 2026

Hello Stamping Friends and welcome to the March Color Fusers Blog Hop. This month, our color combination includes Lemon Lime Twist, Granny Apple Green, and Berry Burst. It immediately made me think of flowers, so I decided to use the Fragrant Layers Bundle and some watercoloring techniques!

The Fragrant Layers Bundle is unique because it includes lots of layering dies, but no outline dies that cut out the stamps. Therefore, I did need to fussy cut the stamped flowers (which I confess, I find very therapeutic and it was fairly easy cutting.)

To stamp the central flowers, I started by stamping the outline image with Stazon ink. I knew I wanted to add watercoloring, and I didn’t want the outline image to bleed, so Stazon ink was the perfect choice because it’s alcohol based. Afterwards, I stamped the fill images with a watercolor stamping technique. I inked up the stamp, stamped off multiple times to lighten the color, and then used a Sponge Dauber to add ink directly to the stamp in areas where I wanted shading. Afterwards, I gave the stamp a spritz and stamped over the outline image. For the flowers, I just used Berry Burst ink. For the leaves, I started with Lemon Lime Twist and then sponged on Granny Apple Green.

For the background flowers, I pre-painted a sheet of Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper with shades of Berry Burst trying to get lots of lights and darks. After the paper dried, I die-cut two sets of flowers. I also die-cut some smaller flowers for accents.

For the leaves, I followed a similar process with Lemon Lime Twist and Granny Apple Green ink.

To break up the watercoloring and add some contrast, I die-cut the outline flowers from Berry Burst Cardstock. I ended up cutting that die-cut in half so I could spread out the flowers.

In the background of my card, I dry embossed a layer of Basic White Cardstock with the Gathering Leaves Embossing Folder. Then, I added splatter with a Berry Burst Stampin’ Blend Marker.

The Fragrant Layers Bundle includes this beautiful label for the sentiment. The die cuts the outline and inner rectangle separately, so if you want to use them together, like I did here, simply tape them together on the back.

You may notice a new ribbon on this card. I used some Berry Burst Shiny Ribbon, a new March Online Exclusive available to purchase tomorrow! It’s thin and iridescent and absolutely gorgeous. I also embellished my card with some Charming Shimmer Faceted Dots.
