Color Fusers Blog Hop — June 2025

By | June 2, 2025

Welcome to the June 2025 Color Fusers Blog Hop. This month, our color combination includes Pretty In Pink, Granny Apple Green, and Fresh Freesia. It immediately made me think of spring flowers and the bright, vibrant greens that come right after a good rain. With that in mind, I decided to use the Impressions Abloom Bundle. It’s a definite favorite of mine from the new 2025-2026 Annual Catalog.

This bundle has beautiful builder stamps and great coordinating dies. The stamps include both detail, fill, and flower center stamps that I can use together or separately. And, the dies are the same. I can use the outlines to cut out the stamped images, but there are also inserts to add impression details. It’s really a fun bundle! The dies also include two large oval labels, and one has a pretty stitched outline that separates from the center oval.

I started by stamping the background with the Painted Stripes stamp. I inked up the large stamp with Pretty In Pink ink and then stamped off twice on scratch paper to lighten the color. Prior to stamping on Basic White Cardstock, I generously spritzed the stamp with clear water.

For the flowers, I only used the fill and flower center stamps. I inked up the fill stamp with either Pretty In Pink or Fresh Freesia ink and then stamped off twice on scratch paper to lighted the color. Next, I used a Sponge Dauber to add ink back onto the center of the flower, spritzed with clear water, and stamped on Basic White Cardstock. This technique results in a soft watercolored look. Once the ink dried, I stamped the centers. This time, I inked up the stamp, stamped off twice on scratch paper to lighten the color, and then used a Sponge Dauber to add ink to the outside edges. Then, I huffed on the stamp before stamping in the middle of the flowers.

For the leaves, I pre-painted a large layer of Basic White Cardstock with Granny Apple Green ink, consciously trying to get lots of areas of light and dark color. Once the paper dried, I used it to die-cut all the leaves on my project.

I have a great tip for layering the oval label with the narrow border. Use the other oval die (that doesn’t have a border) to cut out a supporting layer. Then, glue the center of the bordered oval to the slightly larger oval. Then, glue the border around it. The bigger oval underneath holds the two pieces together making it easy to add to your project!

The left flap of my card front only measures 3″, so the oval die-cut slightly overhangs showing the inside. I added a Pretty In Pink layer on the left that’s dry embossed with the Glass & Garden Embossing Folder.

I needed a birthday card, so I used sentiments from the Beautiful Butterflies stamp set on both the card front and inside.
