Color Fusers Blog Hop — July 2025

Welcome to the July 2025 Color Fusers Blog Hop! This month, our color combination includes Smoky Slate, Cherry Cobbler, and Night of Navy. The colors seemed perfect for a masculine project, so I decided to use the Scenic Adventure Bundle to create a birthday card. I also realized that I had some brand new Need For Tweed Designer Series Paper (a new Online Exclusive) with a sheet of Cherry Cobbler tweed!

To create my “scene”, I watercolored severral sheets of Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper to cut the background arch, mountains, water, and bushes in the foreground using the three challenge colors. Then, I layered the main pieces and cut the arch through all the thicknesses. It takes some muscle to roll the paper through the Cut & Emboss Machine, and it doesn’t cut all the way through in the thicker areas. However, it’s pretty easy to use Paper Snips to trim the rest of the way through.

In the background, I layered a some Basic White Cardstock dry embossed with the Birch Embossing Folder. I also have a strip of Night of Navy Cardstock that I embossed with the Mini Corrugated Embossing Folder. I love texture on cards!

For the stamped trees, I inked up the stamp with Night of Navy, stamped off once on scratch paper to lighten the color, and then used a Sponge Dauber to add Night of Navy ink to a portion of the stamp for a nice variegated look. There is no coordinating die for those trees, so I fussy cut them.

The sentiments on the card front and inside are from the More Messages Bundle. I decided to cut up my large stamp and make individual sentiments. I have to say that I’m really glad I did that, because it makes using this bundle so much easier!
