Color Fusers Blog Hop — July 2024

Hello and welcome to the Color Fusers Blog Hop for July 2024. This month, we have one of my favorite color combinations: White, Black, and my choice! I actually added two choice colors, because I wanted to use the background sheet of Full of Life Designer Series Paper. I absolutely LOVE that paper, because I can quickly add a watercolored backgrounds without doing any of the work! My featured choice colors are Melon Mambo and Pumpkin Pie.

I used the Spotlight On Nature Bundle to stamp the foliage and butterfly with Black Stazon ink on Basic White Cardstock. Then, I watercolored highlights with Melon Mambo and Pumpkin Pie ink. The Spotlight On Nature Stamp Set also includes a great splatter stamp, which I used to add spots to the butterfly.

The coordinating dies do not cut out the stamped images, so this card involved a lot of quiet time fussy cutting, but I rather enjoy that! Also, you might notice that a few of the leaves are missing. When I layered everything, it was just a little too busy, so I cut out a few. I wanted to be able to see that beautiful DSP in the background.

I love the coordinating Spotlight On Nature Dies, which include various sizes of three types of circle dies. It’s probably my most used die set from the Annual Catalog! Behind the Basic Black die-cut, I added some retired Black & White 1/4″ Gingham Ribbon. (It was just too perfect for the color combo theme!)

My sentiment is from the Simply Scripted Stamp Set. I embossed it in white and then fussy cut it so it flowed with the ribbon.
