Welcome to the November Color Fusers Blog Hop! This month, we have an absolutely gorgeous color combination of Copper, Pretty Peacock, and Cherry Cobbler! I am currently obsessed with Pretty Peacock. I think it’s one of my all-time favorite Stampin’ Up! colors.
For my card, I used a couple holiday products from the Annual Catalog, paired with some new ones from the Holiday Catalog. I used the Dashing Deer stamp set and coordinating Detailed Deer Dies, as well as the Merry Christmas Dies, from the Annual Catalog. Then, I used the Beautiful Boughs Dies and Come To Gather Designer Series Paper from the Holiday Catalog. That paper includes some gorgeous designs in Pretty Peacock.
I stamped the deer with Cherry Cobbler ink on Whisper White Cardstock. I just love the intricate detail of that stamp! In addition, I used Cherry Cobbler to watercolor some flower dies I cut from Shimmery White Cardstock, and a coordinating Stampin’ Blend Marker to color some Basic Pearls for the centers.
To integrate some copper into my card, I cut dies from Copper Foil. Tip: To get rid of those little bumps that sometimes appear from your metal dies, use a Bone Folder to flatten out the foil. It works great!!!
I decided that it looked better to centralize the bright colors in the center of the card, and use different shades of Pretty Peacock for the background. After layering the different prints of designer series paper, I added some labels and die cuts using the Beautiful Boughs Dies. I cut the labels in half so I could extend them beyond my main panel. I also cut some of the dies from Shimmery White Cardstock, so I could watercolor them for a little variation.
Be sure to continue on through the Color Fusers Blog Hop. I can hardly wait to see what the other designers do with this pretty color combination! Next up is the super talented Jo Anne Hewins!
