Happy New Year and welcome to the January Color Fusers Blog Hop! We have a soft, pretty color combination this month, so I’m really excited to see what all the designers have created. For my project, I designed a card using the new Wonderful Romance cling stamp set and coordinating Wonderful Floral Framelits Dies. I was so lucky to win this stamp set at Convention in November!!! (It was my favorite!) I thought it would work beautifully with this soft color combination.
I have lots of fun layers on this card. The base is cut from Shimmery White cardstock so I could add a soft Balmy Blue watercolor wash to the background. Then, I used the framelits to cut the side border. Isn’t that lattice just gorgeous? Love!!! I layered the lattice over Gray Granite cardstock.
If you look carefully, this framelit set is one of the special ones that both cuts and embosses. To really make the embossing stand out, I suggest using Big Shot Embossing Mats when cutting out the dies. It makes a huge difference in the depth of the embossed lines.
For the florals, I stamped and embossed in white, and then I watercolored the flowers and leaves with varying shades of Balmy Blue, Mint Macaron, and Gray Granite. I have to be honest, the stamped images in this set are SUPER FINE. It’s a good thing I’m nearsighted and have the option to take off my glasses to see the fine details super up-close. Otherwise, I think I would have gone blind. It may not have been such a good idea to stamp white on white! Haha!!!
