Welcome to the December Color Fusers Blog Hop! This month, we have a rich color combination of Misty Moonlight, Melon Mambo, and Shaded Spruce. I love it, and while it may not be a typical color combination for Christmas cards, that’s what I decided to create.
Whether you just started here or have already been following the blog hop, be sure to continue by clicking the links at the bottom of this post for lots of great inspiration!
For my card, I used the Peaceful Evergreens Dies and coordinating Painted Trees 3D Embossing Folder. (It may be hard to see in the photos, but I used it on the white background and it’s really pretty in real life.) The trees are vibrant, so I wanted to keep the background fairly clean and simple.
I used a Blending Brush to lightly shade the background and then dry embossed the layer with the Painted Trees 3D Embossing Folder. I also added a little bit a splatter with a Misty Moonlight Stampin’ Blend Marker. Then, I ripped a strip of Basic White Cardstock for the snow.
For the trees, I used Sponge Daubers to color Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper. Then, I repeatedly splattered the paper with water droplets to both blend the ink and add water marks. Afterwards, I added Misty Moonlight splatter with a Stampin’ Blend. Lastly, I added white splatter by first flicking a Wink Of Stella Glitter Pen over the trees and then adding white embossing powder.
Some of the trees are layered behind the snow and two are in front.
Finally, I created a sentiment with a saying from the Reindeer Fun Stamp Set cut with a Greeting of the Season Die.
In the background, I layered some Winter Meadow Designer Series Paper in Misty Moonlight. My embellishments include some Adhesive-Backed Sparkle Gems, which I LOVE for Christmas cards. They are beautiful!!!
