Color Fusers Blog Hop – April 2026

By | April 6, 2026

Welcome to the April Color Fusers Blog Hop! This month, our color combination includes Secret Sea, Shy Shamrock, and Petal Pink. OK, am I the only one, or is this a REALLY different color combo? I had to seriously think about this one! I never in a million years would have come up with this combo on my own. But then inspiration hit me … Secret Sea and Shy Shamrock make good ocean colors and Petal Pink could work as sand, and I LOVE the Rolling Waves Bundle!!! So yay, I had a concept!

I decided to make a slimline card measuring 8-1/2″ x 3-3/4″ to give me a little more room to use the palm leaf dies. I’ve been wanting to design a card with them and since I needed to use Shy Shamrock, I figured this was the perfect opportunity. If fact, I decided to cut them from Shy Shamrock Two-Tone Cardstock and blend them with Shy Shamrock ink to give them lots of color variation.

The Shy Shamrock baker’s twine is something I happened to have in my stash of retired products. I also used some Antique Pearls and shell die-cuts from previous projects. (I blended Petal Pink ink on Basic White Cardstock and then splattered the paper with water prior to die-cutting.)

I used the two large texture and water splatter stamps to stamp the Petal Pink sand on Basic White Cardstock. Then, I added more sand texture with the small sand stamp, as well as some starfish.

In the background, I used a layer of Paper Medley 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper Pack available to purchase in the May-August Catalog.

To create the water, I used Blending Brushes to add both Secret Sea and Shy Shamrock ink to Basic White Cardstock. Then, I splattered the paper with water to create the watercolor look.

I also stamped more shells with Petal Pink ink on the card base. It’s those subtle details that really make a card special.
