Can you believe it’s already April? It’s time for a new Color Fusers Blog Hop, and this month, we have a bright, beautiful color palette that reminds me of Spring. I’m sooo ready for warmer weather. I know most of you probably think I don’t have a leg to stand on living in California, but it’s been too cold for too long!
Thinking of Spring and warmer weather, I decided to create a card featuring the Butterfly Brilliance stamp set and coordinating Brilliant Wings Dies, two of my all-time favorites.
Just to be different, I used the bright colors in the background. I used a large Water Painter to paint layers of swirly strips on Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper. Once they dried, I flick them with water drops, trimmed them down to 1″ strips, and punched the ends with the Happy Labels Pick A Punch. They sort of resemble washi tape!
Afterwards, I stamped and embossed the butterflies in white on Vellum. I also used the Brilliant Wings Dies to cut butterflies from Distressed Gold Paper. That paper is some of my favorite, it looks beautiful on any project!
To add a sentiment, I used the Something Fancy Bundle.
Final touches were included a dry embossed background using one of the Basics 3D Embossing Folders, some Opal Rounds, and unraveled Simply Elegant Trim.
