Hello and welcome! I’m Tami Hewlett from California, USA and today, I’m sharing my projects from the October Artisan Design Team Showcase. They feature the incredibly gorgeous Whimsy & Wonder Suite Collection!
Be sure to check out the entire showcase on the Stampin’ Up! Facebook page. The team has truly outdone themselves this month, there are so many beautiful and inspiring projects.
The Whimsy & Wonder Suite Collection is located on page 24 and 25 of the July-December Mini Catalog, and it includes the Whimsical Trees Stamp Set and Christmas Trees Dies (purchase in a bundle to save 10%), Blushing Bride 3/8″ Frayed Grosgrain Ribbon, Wonderful Snowflakes , and Whimsy & Wonder 12″ x 12″ Specialty Designer Series Paper. You can easily order the entire coordinating suite with one item number (156276!) I particularly love the fun stamps and dies, non-traditional color combination, and specialty paper with silver foil accents.
Pretty Pink Ombre Gift Bag
For my first project, I used a Polished Pink Ombre Gift Bag to create an ultra feminine holiday gift. It’s actually quite easy to re-create, because there’s hardly any stamping involved. I simply cut out the ornaments from a sheet of Whimsy & Wonder 12″ x 12″ Specialty Designer Series Paper.
I started by using the Seasonal Labels Dies to cut the background labels from Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper and Gold 6″ x 6″ Metallic Specialty Paper. Then, I watercolored the top label with Polished Pink ink.
Afterwards, I layered the cut ornaments over a Wonderful Snowflake and added some Gold Holly Leaves, Simply Elegant Trim, and Champagne Rhinestone Jewels.
For the sentiment, I embossed it in gold on Basic White Cardstock and trimmed it close.
As a final touch, I splattered some White Craft reinker mixed with a little water and added a fancy bow created with Blushing Bride 3/8″ Frayed Grosgrain Ribbon. I cut the ribbon in narrow strips vertically and then tied the loops with Linen Thread.
Watercolored Christmas Tree Card
I think this next card is my favorite, mostly because I love the watercoloring and color combination. I started by watercoloring an entire sheet of Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper with Polished Pink, Blushing Bride, and Mint Macaron ink.
Then, I cut the large tree for this card and several additional elements for the next card from that watercolored sheet. The Christmas Tree Dies are so fun, because they include all the fun decorations such as the small ornaments and garland. To a little extra sparkle to the Polished Pink ornaments, I painted them with a Wink of Stella Glitter Brush.
The background matt includes one sheet of Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper that I painted in an ombre design with Polished Pink ink and a sheet of Whimsy & Wonder 12″ x 12″ Specialty Designer Series Paper. I roughed up the edges of both layers with the side of my Paper Snips.
I think my favorite part of this card is the sentiment. I embossed it in white on both Blushing Bride and Polished Pink Cardstock and then cut in apart. To pop up the words, I cut narrow strips from the edge of my Dimensionals to fit on the back.
Finally, to create the snowbanks on this card and the next one, I used the Inspiring Canopy Dies.
Ultra Feminine Christmas Card
For my last card, I used some of the watercolored die-cuts discussed above and then added a watercolored sky created with both Blushing Bride and Polished Pink ink. For added texture, I dry embossed the background layer with the Wintery 3D Embossing Folder.
I know this card is very non-traditional, but I love it and plan to send it to someone very special. I particularly love the bright pinks with the brushed gold accents and stark white snow.
For one of the trees, I used the watercolored sheet I created for the second card, and stamped and embossed the tree in gold.
