7 Days of Christmas : Day Seven
My seventh project features the Christmas Lights Bundle and a lot of watercoloring. I die-cut the images from paper that I pre-watercolored with Shaded Spruce, Parakeet Party, Coastal Cabana, Pale Papaya, Sweet Sorbet, and Polished Pink ink for a non-traditional look.
I used Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper to paint rainbow stripes of each color. When it dried, I embossed the stamped images in white, and then cut out the images with the coordinating Twinkling Lights Dies. Those dies include both outline and center cut dies for the pretty peek-a-boo dots.
In the background, I used the bundle to stamp and emboss the swags in white on Basic White Cardstock and then cut out the stars and additional swags. To enhance the peek-a-boo effect, I added colored layers underneath.
I also added some dry embossing with the Stripes & Splatters Embossing Folder.
The final touch was a pretty ribbon tied with White Organdy Ribbon that I cut in half lengthwise and some white Baker’s Twine, as well as some Iridescent Rhinestones.
I hope you enjoyed the 7 Days of Christmas! It certainly helped me get a jump on my holiday cardmaking.
