Weekly News / Watercolor Words

By | June 23, 2015

Welcome to my Tuesday newsletter.  Each Tuesday, I’ll let you know the latest Weekly Deals and any other promotions going on at Stampin’ Up!  Before I get to that today,  I wanted to share a card I made using the new Watercolor Words stamp set.  This is another one of my favorite new stamp sets.  I know my readers must get tired of hearing this, but I do really love the watercolor style stamps.  Last year, one of my favorite and most used stamps was the Watercolor Thank You single stamp.  So, when I saw the Watercolor Words stamp set, which is full of similar type stamps, I just knew it was a stamp set I’d really use a lot and love.

To create my card, I first stamped a little Gorgeous Grunge in the background using Blushing Bride ink on Blushing Bride card stock.  For all the stamping on this card, I again used the technique where I inked the stamp, then used an Aqua Painter to brush water over the stamp prior to stamping on the paper.  This gives all the stamped images a realistic watercolor look.

I stamped the greeting on Very Vanilla card stock and cut it out with a Deco Labels Framelits Die.  Then, I stamped the various flowers on both Very Vanilla and Blushing Bride card stock with Blushing Bride, Rose Red, and Pear Pizzazz ink.  Afterwards, I cut out the flowers and leaves by hand.  (Yes sometimes, I still have to cut out by hand!  These were actually very easy.)

The paper along the side is from Timeless Elegance Designer Series Paper, my personal favorite of the new designer papers.

As a final touch, I added this gorgeous Blushing Bride Sequin Trim, and a Vintage Faceted Button tied with Silver Metallic Thread.
