It’s Tuesday, so that means new Weekly Deals from Stampin’ Up! today. You’ll notice lots of great punches, including the What’s Up punch that coordinates with this week’s featured Sale-a-bration product — the You Brighten My Day stamp set. The Weekly Deals also include one of my favorite digital downloads, the Amped Up Ampersands kit. I’ve used this kit on many scrapbook pages. It’s got great background papers and embellishments!

My Sale-a-brtion Inspiration – Big Day stamp set & Irresistibly Yours Specialty Designer Paper
I have more Sale-a-bration inspiration for you today. Today, I’m featuring the Big Day stamp set, Irresistibly Yours Specialty Designer Paper, and Blendabilities Markers, each of which you can earn for free when you purchase $50 until March 31, 2015. The Big Day stamp set is a great stamp set for any birthday celebration. It can easily be made into both feminine, masculine, adult, and children’s cards. It especially works well with the new Chalkboard paper because it’s got a sketched style.
On my project today, I tried something new. I stamped the images in White Craft ink, then I colored them with Blendabilities Markers! I wasn’t sure if this would work, but I really like the way it turned out. I did find that it was very important to stay in the lines. On my first attempt (which I trashed) I wasn’t so careful and tried using the Color Lifter to erase some mistakes. It didn’t work on the Chalkboard paper and sort of made a mess. On this second attempt, I was much more careful to just barely color the thicker lines. I was much happier with the results.
For my background, I sponged Rich Razzleberry, Coastal Cabana, and Lost Lagoon ink over the Irresistibly Yours Specialty Designer Paper.
I used a Hexagon Punch to get a nice “V” shape on my banner, and then tied it with Black Baker’s Twine.
