Have you thought of subscribing to Paper Pumpkin?  Well, now’s the time to try!  From now through June 10, new Paper Pumpkin subscribers can get 50% off their first two months!  After that, you can keep the creativity coming for only $19.95 + tax per month (shipping included).   Visit PaperPumpkin.com to join!  Be sure to use promo code: SAVE50 and sign up by Wednesday, June 10, 2015, at 11:50 PM (MT).
I’ve been a Paper Pumpkin subscriber for well over a year.  It’s so exciting when I see that little red box in my mailbox each month!  I feel like I’m getting a present, because it’s a surprise each time I open it.  And, I’m never disappointed!  It could be supplies to make cards, gift bags, treats, you never know.  Everything’s in the box except adhesive.  Plus, each kit always includes exclusive stamps that I can keep using forever and ever, as well as at least one Stampin’ Spot ink pad in a color that will not repeat for at least a year.  Wait until you see this month’s kit!  (I’ll have an upcoming blog post.)

But that’s not all; when you sign up for Paper Pumpkin with me as your demonstrator, it qualifies you to receive free monthly tutorials for alternative projects.  These tutorials are exclusive to my customers just as a thank you for signing up under me.  They include at least 8 alternative projects, including step-by-step instructions.  Look above for a sneak peek of last month’s tutorials.

Weekly Deals:

Stampin’ Up! announced the following new Weekly Deals today.  They include lots of items from the current Occasions Catalog, and one of my favorite little embellishments – Stacked With Love Designer Washi Tape!  Because it’s black and white, that tape works as a great accent on almost any card.  I also particularly love and recommend the Birthday Bash Designer Series Paper and the Stacked With Love Designer Paper Stack.

Inspiration – New Sprinkles of Life:

For my inspiration today, I have a quick card made from the new Sprinkles of Life stamp set (available for purchase on June 2.)  This is the new Ronald McDonald House stamp set from the 2015 Annual Catalog.  I love that Stampin’ Up! supports Ronald McDonald House.  RMHC is such a worthy cause that helps families stay close to hospitalized children.  Stampin’ Up! will donate $3 from each purchase of this stamp set.
This stamp set is chalked full of fun stamps.  What you see on this card is just the tip of the iceberg!  Plus, Stampin’ Up! has a coordinating Tree Builder Punch (which cuts out the cupcake top!)  You can use this set to make cupcakes, ice cream cones, clouds, baskets, and trees.  Plus, it’s got loads of cute accessory stamps and sentiments.  I predict that this set will be very, very popular.

For my card, I made a simple cupcake mainly because I think this sentiment is so darn cute.  My daughter LOVES to make cupcakes.  She’s already built up quite a reputation at the age of 17, and was even hired by her aunt to cater a party last year.  In fact, while I’m writing this, she’s downstairs making cupcakes for her Film Club!  (She’s making her favorites … lemon with blackberry icing!)  I thought it would be fun to surprise her with this card.
After stamping the images, I used an Aqua Painter to quickly watercolor highlights.  I say quickly because I used Whisper White card stock.  That card stock is not really meant for watercoloring, so when I use it for that purpose, I limit my brushstrokes to a quick one, or the paper will pill.  For real watercoloring, I recommend watercolor paper or Shimmery White card stock.  Both work beautifully.  But, when I just want to add some quick highlights, Whisper White works fine.

After stamping and watercoloring, I added some Dazzling Diamonds glitter with Multipurpose Glue to really make the sprinkles sparkle.  Hey, what girl doesn’t like sparkles?
My card includes Pool Party, Daffodil Delight, and the new 2015-2017 In Color – Watermelon Wonder (available for purchase on June 2.)
I also included a few retiring items on this card, just to remind you of some fantastic items that are going away on June 2.  Retiring items include the Perfect Pennants BigZ Die, Beach House Designer Washi Tape, and Park Lane Designer Series Paper.
