It’s the first Tuesday of the month, and that means new Weekly Deals and new Digital Downloads from Stampin’ Up! Yippee!!!
First, let’s look at the new Weekly Deals. There’s lots of great products for Valentine’s Day included in this week’s deals, including the Sweetheart and Hearts Border punches. Also, check it out, the brand new Ornate Tag Topper punch is on sale this week! Finally, if you’ve been wanting to get the Hamburger Box Bigz XL Die, you could save more than $10 this week.
Here are the latest Digital Downloads released today. I was so happy to see the Butterfly Basics stamp set! I’m currently using that stamp set for my Stamps In the Mail class, where we are making 12 cards over the course of three months with that stamp set. I love it when Stampin’ Up! provides digital copies of the same stamp set, because it makes it so easy to whip up flat inside greetings. Also, notice the Summer Soiree Kit. This kit includes the papers from the Gold Soiree specialty designer series papers, with one exception. The papers that normally come in gold are overlays, so you can color them any color you want!!!
Each week, Stampin’ Up! selects a product of the week to feature. This week, it’s the Best Day Ever stamp set and coordinating designer series paper. Valentine for My Hubby
For my inspiration today, I’m showing you a card I made for my husband for Valentine’s Day. I haven’t shown a masculine card for a while, so I figured it would be a good change of pace. I used the You Plus Me stamp set. This set is really versatile. I’ve shown super feminine cards made with it, and here’s the complete opposite. I think the key ingredient into making a masculine card is selecting the colors. I still have lots of hearts, but the combination of Soft Sky, Basic Black and Whisper White gives this a distinctly masculine feel.
I created my background with the Happy Hearts Textured Impression Embossing Folder. I love, love, love this TIEF, and it’s just perfect for Valentine’s.
You’ll notice that I did stick in one Paper Pumpkin stamp (the heart outline). I just thought it worked well and emphasized the Soft Sky color from the background.
I embossed the You Plus Me stamps in silver to add some texture. I also added some Stacked With Love Designer Washi Tape on top of the Silver Fancy Foil Designer Vellum to add some black highlights. Finally, I added lots of dimensionals to really make this whole card pop.
