Happy Tuesday! I have a little inspiration for you today, as well as some new Weekly Deals from Stampin’ Up!
My card today features the Watercolor Words and Be the Star stamp sets. I made this graduation card for a good friend who’s oldest son just graduated from high school this year. This is a fairly simple card to make. The only thing that took a little time was making the tassel:)
To start out, I cut a piece of Whisper White card stock measuring 4″ x 5-1/4″. I wanted bright, happy colors, so I selected Cucumber Crush, Bermuda Bay and Rich Razzleberry for my background. I started at the bottom of the sheet and sponged on one color at a time, using small circular motions. I added color gradually until I achieved the desired gradient.
Before embossing the greeting and stars, I rubbed an embossing buddy over the entire sheet to remove any static. Otherwise, the embossing powder would have stuck to all the ink in the background. Then, I stamped “hooray” and the stars with Versamark ink and embossed in white.
The fun paper on the side is from Everyday Chic Designer Series Paper. I love the contrast of the black and white paper against the bright color of the background!
Finally, I wrapped the card with Bermuda Bay Thick Baker’s Twine and tied on a tassel.
