It’s Tuesday, so we have new Weekly Deals at Stampin’ Up! The following items will be 25% off for the next week. There are some great items here, including the Honeycomb Textured Impression Embossing Folder. I love all the embossing folders, but this one is a particular favorite. It makes beautiful backgrounds used as an embossing folder, but also works well when used with a little ink and a gentle finger press! I also recommend the Circle Card Thinlits Dies. This thinlit creates a circle flip card and includes lots of great accent pieces.
Build a Birthday Card:
For my inspiration today, I’m using the fun Build a Birthday stamp set. This set is so much fun to use and it coordinates perfectly with the Cherry On Top Designer Paper Stack. You can use the individual stamps to make candles (as I did here) or to stack horizontally to build a birthday cake. The flames are separate stamps, making it easy to change ink colors, and the whole set comes in photopolymer stamps making it a snap to line up different elements.
Do you notice all the banners on my card? I used the Banner Triple Punch to make them. Technically, the Banner Triple Punch is designed to create 1″, 1-1/2″ and 2″ banners, but I’ve found that it can basically handle any width of paper up to 2″, as long as I line up the paper straight.
I cut all my banners from the Cherry On Top Designer Paper Stack. I LOVE Stampin’ Up!’s new paper stacks!!! They measure 6″ x 6″, and you get tons of pretty designs to choose from. Plus, they don’t cost very much! For only $8.00, you get 48 sheets (4 each of 12 double sided designs!)
For the little scallop under my greeting, I stamped the cake dish from the Build a Birthday stamp set, then I cut out the scallops by hand.
You can see that I added lots of embellishments to this card. I added pearls, sequin trim and one of the 2015-2017 In Color Blossom Embellishments (so pretty!!!)
