Last Sunday was my husband’s birthday, and my mom made such a beautiful card for him that I just had to share! She said that she copied it, but regardless, she still had to paint and sponge and add all her own little touches, and I think it’s just a gorgeous card!
Mom went with us to Maui this summer, and every time we went snorkeling (which we did a lot), we saw sea turtles or honus. So, this card really means a lot, because it reminds my husband of that wonderful trip and the good times we had. I’m sure that’s what my mom had in mind when she created it.
I really love the way mom painted the turtles with all the varying colors. I’m not exactly sure which colors she used, but I think I can see Mossy Meadow, Old Olive, Pear Pizzazz, and even Blushing Bride. She also added little speckles of black.
If you look closely, you can see that the foreground is also done really well. I think she used Gorgeous Grunge to create a sandy bottom, again with multiple colors. The white embossed coral is actually the jellyfish stamp from Land To Sea stamped upside down!!!! What a great idea!
Finally, it looks like my mom colored pearls to create the eyes, either with a Blendabilities Marker or a Sharpie.
