Weekly News

It’s been a super busy week!  I started my new job as the accountant for a local insurance company.  It’s going really well.  Luckily, the woman I’m replacing (who’s retiring) has been able to stick around for a few weeks to train me on their system.  While I’m very familiar with accounting systems, I’ve never worked for an insurance company, so her help is greatly appreciated and has made the transition fairly smooth so far.

This weekend, my daughter had an amazing opportunity to model wedding dresses for Bliss Bridal Shop.  She was SO EXCITED!!!  She had to show up at 7:00 AM on Saturday to have her hair and makeup done.  That fact alone demonstrates how much she wanted to do this.  Here she is on TV on Good Day Sacramento.  (Leave it a mom to take a picture of the the TV, right?)

Later, she modeled several dresses in front of the shop.  They gave her jewelry and even a wedding ring to wear!

I love the way they did her hair!

OK, so on to Stampin’ Up! news.  Stampin’ Up! is working on transitioning to it’s new annual catalog, which will be available to order from on June 1, 2016.  That means lots of new products are coming, and unfortunately, there are retiring products too.  You can see the list of retiring items HERE.  Some retiring items will sell out very quickly, so be sure to order soon if there’s something you really want.

While I can’t show you anything from the new catalog yet, I can tell you about some cool new items.  Stampin’ Up! is coming out with a new Big Shot Platform that will replace the version currently included with the Big Shot.  The new platform is designed to perform even better with Stampin’ Up! dies and embossing folders and is more compatible with the Precision Base Plate for intricate dies.  It’s also been simplified with fewer tabs that aren’t needed with the dies and embossing folders Stampin’ Up! offers.

If you already own a Big Shot, you’ll want to plan to buy one of these to replace your old platform.  The new platform will be included with each Big Shot purchased after June 1, 2016, when the 2016-2017 annual catalog launches.  (Item number 142802, price $26 available to order on June 1, 2016.)

Since the Retiring List was made available, many people have asked about the inclusion of the Stampin’ Trimmer Scoring Blades (item 126996) and Stampin’ Trimmer Replacement Cutting Mat (item 131375) on the list.  Just to clarify, all trimmers will continue to include a cutting mat and scoring blade.  The scoring blade does not wear out.  For this reason, the scoring blades do not need to be replaced.  With the retirement of the Rotary Addition (item 129407), the cutting mat will not need to be replaced since regular cutting blades never make contact with the cutting mat.

Be sure to check out the Clearance items at my online store:

All my customers who’ve ordered at least $50 in the past year will receive a new annual catalog for free.  New catalogs will be mailed around mid-May or hand delivered at my workshops.

As a demonstrator, I have an opportunity to pre-order certain items from the new annual catalog on May 3, including the new In-Colors!!!  Stay tuned for posts providing sneak peaks of these new products.
