Every Tuesday, I bring you up-to-date with all the news at Stampin’ Up! It’s already March, which means it’s the last month of Sale-A-Bration. This great sale only happens once a year, and it’s the best time to buy stamps and paper crafting supplies. Every time you spend $50 during Sale-A-Bration, you qualify to earn a free product from the Sale-A-Bration catalog(s). If you don’t have the original or supplemental Sale-A-Bration catalogs, you can find PDF versions under the Current Catalogs Tab on my blog.
For inspiration today, I’m using the What I Love Sale-A-Bration stamp set. This is one of my favorite Sale-A-Bration sets. It’s super versatile and includes three-step stamps to create gorgeous flowers. But, do you have to use all three steps? No!!!
For most of this card, I only used the flower outline stamp. I stamped it in three different colors … a color combination that I’ve never used before. I was trying to challenge myself to try something different.
I stamped the outline flower, and then stamped it again without re-inking for a faded effect. This is called stamping off once. (You can continue stamping with this method numerous times for even more fading.)
Tip: I had to re-do this card once because of a mistake. So hopefully, I can save you from making the same one. When I stamped the first image off the side of the paper (you can see that I did that numerous times), the stamped off image looked bad! It had a line across it where the edge of the paper hit, and the part that was off the paper when I stamped it originally had more ink on it as well. So here’s my tip. When you stamp the first image off the side of the paper, don’t stamp again! Instead, re-ink the stamp and stamp off on a scratch piece of paper before stamping on your project. It will look much, much better!
The What I Love stamp set does not include a birthday sentiment. Because I wanted to make a birthday card, I added a stamp from another set … Build A Birthday.
This is actually a really easy card to make. Most of the stamping is focused on one layer.
For the one flower that I cut out by hand, I stamped the outline with Eggplant Envy, then I stamped the background with that same color, but I stamped off once so it wasn’t so dark. I stamped the inside highlights with Rich Razzleberry.
To finish off my card, I wanted to add a bow, but I didn’t want to cover up too much of my hard work. So, I chose to wrap it with White Baker’s Twine. I love baker’s twine because it’s tiny, yet it adds that extra WOW factor. It’s also very flat, so it makes it very easy to mail!!!

This morning, Stampin’ Up! announced the following new Weekly Deals. All items are 25% off.
Be sure to come back on Thursday. I’ll show you another card I made with the What I Love stamp set, but using a fun spritzing technique.
Have a wonderful and creative week!
