Christmas isn’t even here yet, but Stampin’ Up! is already starting to look forward to the new Occasions Catalog coming out January 5, 2016.  (I’ve already ordered copies of the new mini catalog for all my customers who’ve spent $50 or more in the past year.)  With that said, I’m sure you’d like to know which products are sticking around and which ones are retiring.  If you’re curious, you can download a PDF version HERE or a Excel version that’s already sorted by page numbers HERE.  Starting November 16th, the retiring items will only be available while supplies last, so be sure to shop for any of your wish list items soon before they are gone for good.

Christmas Inspiration:

I have a quick card to share today using the Antique Tags Hostess stamp set and Oh, What Fun (greetings) stamp set.  You can find both these sets in the Holiday Catalog, and you can earn the Antique Tags stamp set for FREE when you host a qualifying workshop or party.  You only need to host a party with sales of $150 to earn this great stamp set that coordinates with four punches and one thinlit die.

I love this Santa stamp!  It’s just a perfect image to create a quick watercolor.  I stamped the Santa image twice on Shimmery White paper, once using Cherry Cobbler ink for the background and again using Basic Gray Archival ink for the watercoloring.  I punched out the entire stamp with a 2″ Circle punch and the Santa with a 1-3/8″ Circle punch, then layered them with dimensionals.

The Basic Gray Archival ink works beautifully for watercoloring.  It doesn’t smear at all, and I painted right on top of the hat and suit.  I thought this image went great with the Season of Cheer Designer Series Paper, which also has a watercolored style.

I backed my Santa with some Red Glimmer Paper, punched with a 2-1/2″ Circle punch, and a silver Metallic Doily.

Tip:  When using glimmer paper, use Multipurpose glue to adhere your layers.  Because of the gritty texture of this paper, it’s the only type of glue that will really stick.

The Ho Ho Ho stamp is from the Oh, What Fun stamp set.  That set has lots of great greetings for cards and tags.  I stamped the greeting numerous times on the right of the card using Soft Sky ink to create a fun background, then emphasized it again on the sentiment.  And, just to add a little flair, I taped some Everyday Chic Designer Series Washi Tape below the greeting before I punched it out with a Washi Label punch.  That washi tape has a nice silver shimmer, which coordinates well with the doily and cording.
