Today, I have another Christmas card to share with you.  This card uses the Reason For the Season stamp set and coordinating Festive Flower Builder Punch.  (You can purchase these two items in a bundle for 15% off!)  I recently featured these two products in my November classes.  They are so versatile!  In my classes, we made a card using two-step stamping to stamp and color the poinsettia flower image; then on another card, we stamped and embossed only the outline of the poinsettia flower so we could watercolor it.  For another project, we used the petal/leaf stamps to create a beautiful 3-D poinsettia flower to decorate a gift box.  In fact, you can see a video showing how to make these awesome 3-D flowers HERE.  All these options are available from one stamp set!!!

My card today uses ANOTHER technique with this stamp set.  The 3-D flower we build in my class was super pretty, but it’s definitely too bulky to add to a card.  So, that got me thinking whether I could make a flatter version for a card.  Hmm…

I wanted to watercolor all the petals to coordinate with the Season of Cheer Designer Series background paper.  So, I decided to stamp the flower leaves on Shimmery White paper.  This paper is awesome for watercoloring, but it’s not as thick as traditional watercolor paper!  Because of that, it was perfect for this project.

I started by stamping and embossing the flower petals in gold.  Then, I punched them out and watercolored them using Real Red and Cherry Cobbler ink.

I adhered the petals with SNAIL and dimensionals so that the flower laid fairly flat.  Also, I didn’t score and fold the leaves (like in the video for the 3-D flower.)

For the leaves, I stamped them with Old Olive ink on Pear Pizzazz paper, to match the background paper.

I wrapped up my card like a gift using the Gold 3/8″ Glitter Ribbon.  (I LOVE this ribbon!!!  It’s so pretty!)

For the tag, I used a Note Tag Punch.  I love the way this card turned out.
