Happy 4th of July everyone!!! Hope you have a great time celebrating and have an awesome day!
Today, I have a card to share that I made with the Watercolor Wings photopolymer stamp set and coordinating Butterflies Thinlits Dies and Bold Butterfly Framelits. All these items work beautifully together to layer and embellish. In fact, you can purchase the Watercolor Wings and Bold Butterfly Framelits in a bundle for a 15% discount.
I really love this color combination. It’s funny how a card evolves sometimes. I started out with the background paper. It’s from the Farmer’s Market Designer Paper Series. I just think it’s gorgeous and thought it would make a beautiful background for some really bright butterflies. Next, I researched butterfly colors online, and I actually found pictures of some butterflies with this coloring! I used Watermelon Wonder, Melon Mambo, and Blackberry Bliss inks. Then, I just started experimenting with different combinations of the two and three-step stamping with this set.
These were my favorite three butterfly combinations. For the large butterfly, I stamped off Watermelon Wonder ink for the main butterfly. Then, I added Melon Mambo to the tips, and Blackberry Bliss to the center.
For the middle butterfly, I stamped off Blackberry Bliss for the main butterfly, then added Blackberry Bliss to the wing tips, and Melon Mambo to the center.
For the top butterfly, I stamped off Melon Mambo for the main butterfly, then I added Blackberry Bliss to the wing tips, and Watermelon Wonder to the center. It’s so fun to come up with all the possibilities!
After I stamped my butterflies, I just started playing with layers to see what would look best. I used the card on page 75 of the annual catalog as inspiration to add different centers to each butterfly.
I really love the dotted border stamp that comes in the Watercolor Wings set, so I just had to add a subtle border on the side.
