I have another Sale-A-Bration card to share with you today.
Sale-A-Bration started this week and goes through March 31, 2016. During this period, you can earn a free product from the Sale-A-Bration catalog each time you spend $50. The Sale-A-Bration catalog is divided into two parts. The first part lists products that will be available during the entire sale, and the second part starting on page 16 lists products that will be available only for a limited time through February 15. Then on February 16, 2016, there will be some new Sale-A-Bration products available!!!
I used two of the limited edition products that will only be available through February 15 on this card — the Sky Is The Limit stamp set and Perfectly Artistic Designer Series Paper. I fell in love with this stamp set when I first saw it. I love the old fashioned plane, clouds, and sentiments that come with this set. Plus, it’s great for making masculine cards, something I’m always looking for.
I stamped the cloud images with Basic Gray Archival ink directly on a sheet of Perfectly Artistic Designer Series Paper. Then, I used a White Signo Uni-Ball Gel Pen to color in the clouds. I love the way the Perfectly Artistic paper, with its marbling design, looks like a sky with swirling clouds.
For the vellum paper clouds in the background, I used two different size scallop circle punches, which I then cut in half.
I stamped the plane with Basic Gray Archival ink on Whisper White cardstock, making it easy to add a little color with a Blender Pen. I used both Tempting Turquoise and Soft Sky ink to color the plane, and then I cut it out with scissors
As a final touch, I used an Updated Essentials Paper Piercing template to create a pierced border around my main image. The grid lines on the template made it easy to create straight even lines.
Paper piercing is a great way to add a unique dimension to your handmade cards. It’s a technique that I forget about using, yet when I do it, I love it!
