Global Design Project #GDP097 — Color Challenge

This weekend, I decided to challenge myself and design a project to enter the Global Design Project #GDP097 Color Challenge!  I had seen some truly amazing projects created by both the design team and challengers.  So, I thought why not join the fun and see what I could come up with?  The challenge is simple, design a project with these three colors:   When I last looked, there were 55 entries!!!… Read More »

Mediterranean Birthday

We have lots of July birthdays in my family!  Yesterday was my Sister-In-Law Laurel’s birthday, and I know she reads my blog, so I had to be careful not to publish her card before she actually received it.  Her husband arranged a super fun “Girl’s Night Out” surprise party for her last night.  I even sent her a decoy birthday card in the mail so she wouldn’t suspect.  Hee, hee… Read More »

Here’s To You!

One of my new favorite stamp sets is Mixed Drinks.  It has so many fun elements to design delicious, “Summery” cards.  What’s even better is that I can use this set for both feminine and masculine cards! We have a friend that is so generous to our kids.  He is constantly showering them with gifts.  Recently, he gave them both money … my son for graduating from college, and my… Read More »

Mediterranean Moments

Last week at my mom’s house, we had a “craft day” and played with her stamps.  It’s so much fun to look at someone else’s stash and use goodies I don’t own!!!  Believe it or not, my mom has lots of stuff I don’t have!!! First, I have to digress and give a little back story.  Earlier that week, we were walking through the little mall in Mammoth and ran… Read More »

Watercolor Wedding

My husband and I are going to a wedding for one of his clients soon.  I’m obviously looking forward to the event, but I was also excited to have an opportunity to make a wedding card!  We haven’t had many weddings in our family recently, and wedding cards are one of my favorites to make. This weekend, I wrapped the gift all in silver with lots of glitter and sparkles. … Read More »

Today, I have three more installments of my 2018 Desktop Calendars to share with you, including April, May and June.  I create these calendars over the course of a year so I can hand them out as Christmas gifts.  The calendars measure 4″ x 6″ and fit in a standard frame.  My friends and family love them!!! When designing each month, I use a combination of current and retired products. … Read More »

Life Is A Beautiful Thing

Life IS a beautiful thing.  I love that saying, because it’s something I truly believe. The other day, I was perusing Pinterest and found a gorgeous, tranquil photo that I wanted to copy.  On the surface, it seems so simple … a beautiful sunset, water, and one chair.  I decided to try to watercolor it. Here’s the photo I found so you can see my inspiration.  I had to change… Read More »

Oh So Eclectic!

My mom visited last weekend, and when we get together, we love to craft!  So not only was she able to attend one of my stamp workshops, but the next day, we had fun stamping and experimenting with new techniques! The card I’m sharing today includes two stamping techniques: 1) the background involves something new that I’ve never tried before, and 2) then I watercolored the flower and stitched circle, so… Read More »

Banners For You Graduation

My son is graduating from college!  We’re so proud of him!!!  Oh my gosh, it seems like yesterday that I was bringing him to his first day of Kindergarten.  Look at that sweet little face. Now, he’s graduating from California State University East Bay with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Therapeutic Studies.  He has a job as a Physical Therapy Aid, and he’s working… Read More »

Colorful Seasons Watercolor

Today, I have a fun new card to share with you featuring the Colorful Seasons suite of products.  I’m also going to start a tutorial series on watercoloring.  I recently had a customer ask for detailed instructions on watercoloring tools and techniques.  She indicated that she doesn’t have a local demonstrator, so I thought it might be useful to other customers who read my blog and are in the same situation. … Read More »

It’s the weekend!!!  Just breathe and relax! Today, I have a preview of lots of fun things coming in the new 2017-2018 Annual Catalog that goes live on June 1, 2017.  That’s just around the corner!  One suite of products that instantly caught my eye was the Colorful Seasons stamp set and coordinating Seasonal Layers Thinlits Dies.  There are SO MANY elements to these two sets.  I can literally use… Read More »

Botanical Gift Bag

Today is my monthly Stamp Club meeting!  My friends and I gather together once a month to make four projects and rotate hostesses.  It’s a great way to learn new stamping techniques and try out new products, while having fun visiting and catching up, as well as reaping the rewards of free hostess dollars!!! My project share for today is the door prize I made to give away tonight.  It’s another… Read More »

This is both an exciting and sad time of year for me.  I get so excited when the new Annual Catalog is coming out!  The new products help inspire my creativity.  And boy oh boy, this year’s catalog will NOT disappoint you!  It is AMAZIMG!!!  I think it’s my all time favorite, seriously! On the other hand, it’s also time to say good-bye to old favorites.  My card today uses several… Read More »

Happy Celebrations

We had lots to celebrate last week!  Two birthdays and Easter!!!  Not only did my daughter have her birthday, but so did her boyfriend that she’s been dating for almost a year.  He’s a great kid that we’ve really enjoyed getting to know. For his birthday card, I used the new Happy Celebrations stamp set and coordinating Celebrations Duo embossing folder.  I again got my inspiration from a card on… Read More »

A Special Birthday Girl

Last Monday was my daughter’s 19th birthday.  I’m sure you all know how much I adore her.  She’s such a fun-loving, smart, and beautiful soul … I know, I know, I’m proud, I can’t help it!!! Anyway, she really appreciates my cards, so I really enjoy putting in a special effort.  I was inspired by a card I saw on Pinterest, but this is what I came up with. I… Read More »

Elegant Easter

I’ve made several “cute” Easter cards with bunnies and chocolate, so this time I wanted to create something different … something elegant and pretty.  Also, just to make sure you read until the end of this post, I have a link to the retiring products list from the 2016-2017 Annual Catalog and Occasions Catalog.  Both catalogs will end on May 31, 2017 and the retiring products will only be available… Read More »

Solid Chocolate

What’s better for Easter than solid chocolate bunnies, right?  Ha!  Well, how about a nice Easter card about solid chocolate?  Hmm … not exactly the same, but it’s a cute idea. When I saw this sentiment for the Basket Bunch stamp set, I KNEW I had to use it on at least one card.  I mean, it’s really too perfect for words. Once again, I stamped my images on Shimmery… Read More »

Easter Treats

My daughter will be home for Easter, but my son is staying at college.  So, last weekend I boxed up a bunch of treats to mail off to him and his girlfriend.  He LOVES chocolate, so I know he’ll appreciate it. 🙂 It’s hard to mail an Easter basket, so I opted for an Easter bag.  And, even though Sale-A-Bration is over, I couldn’t resist using those cute chick stamps.… Read More »

Egg-stra Special!

It’s been an exciting week!  First, I had my Stamp Club on Thursday night (which I always love.)  I have so much fun getting together with these nice ladies once a month to create.  Then, I went home to realize my computer monitor bit the dust.  It’s frustrating to realize how much I rely on my computer!  No way to upload and edit pictures, which means no blog updates.  Yikes!… Read More »
