Snowflake Watercolor #GDP112

This week, the Global Design Project challenge is to CASE (copy and share everything) one of the designers, Connie Collins.  Connie is one of my all-time favorite Artisan Designers.  I’ve followed her blog for years.  She is amazingly artistic … simply one-of-a-kind.  Every single one of her projects is meticulously perfect and detailed.  She’s just awe inspiring. The card she designed includes beautiful watercoloring and Fall colors.  See below for… Read More »

November 2018 Desktop Calendar

Today, I’m sharing my November 2018 desktop calendar.  I think this is my favorite one to date!!!  It features one of my favorite stamp sets, Painted Harvest, and one of my favorite techniques — stamping and spritzing.  This messy and sort of “uncontrolled” watercoloring technique really appeals to me. I think you’ll be amazed at how easy this page was to create.  I simply cut the largest square Stitched Shape… Read More »

October 2018 Desktop Calendar

For my October 2018 desktop calendar, I used the Pick A Pumpkin bundle from the Holiday catalog.  I particularly love the detailed pumpkin outline die cut and swirls.  They’re so pretty!  I also adore the various pumpkins and leaf shapes.  You can use this bundle to make cutesy projects with Jack-O-Lanterns, or more elegant projects like this one. I used colors from a recent Global Design Project color challenge, including Tangerine Tango,… Read More »

Last weekend, I finished three more months of my 2018 desktop calendars!!!  I’m so excited because I’m almost finished for the year, only one more month to go.  So that means that this week, I’ll post three different installments on my blog for the September, October, and November 2018 pages. If you’re new to my blog, I’ve been working on these 4″ x 6″ desktop calendars all year.  I try… Read More »

Watercolor Quilt – #GDP102

Hope you’re having a wonderful Labor Day Weekend!  It’s SO HOT where I live — 111 degrees yesterday!!!  Yikes!  Talk about one last blast of Summer.  Well, I’m staying inside where it’s nice and cool and having fun creating.  Sounds like the perfect weekend to me (except having to clean the house, but I got that out of the way yesterday, so it’s all uphill from here.) The other AMAZING… Read More »

GDP101 – Color Challenge

This week, the Global Design Project is having a color challenge!  I love color challenges, because they force me to use new and different combinations.  Actually, I love challenges period, because they force me to think outside of the box.  A few months ago, I felt like I was in a funk and doing these challenges over the last month has really inspired me.  (The feedback has encouraged me as… Read More »

Magical “Orange” Mermaid

Today, I have a really special card to share with you.  When I first saw the Magical Mermaid stamp set, I fell in love and knew I had to have it.  It’s perfect for my daughter.  (I’ll explain why below.)  I really didn’t have a specific reason for making this card, other than it just suits her.  She is leaving to go back to college in a couple weeks, so… Read More »

Beachy Birthday

My Brother-In-Law is celebrating his birthday this week, and he’s a really great guy, so I wanted to make an extra special card for him.  He lives in Southern California and enjoys relaxing (like all of us!)  So, I thought why not create a beach themed card for him? I love the lounge chairs from the Colorful Seasons stamp set and thought they would make a great centerpiece for this… Read More »

Mediterranean Birthday

We have lots of July birthdays in my family!  Yesterday was my Sister-In-Law Laurel’s birthday, and I know she reads my blog, so I had to be careful not to publish her card before she actually received it.  Her husband arranged a super fun “Girl’s Night Out” surprise party for her last night.  I even sent her a decoy birthday card in the mail so she wouldn’t suspect.  Hee, hee… Read More »

Here’s To You!

One of my new favorite stamp sets is Mixed Drinks.  It has so many fun elements to design delicious, “Summery” cards.  What’s even better is that I can use this set for both feminine and masculine cards! We have a friend that is so generous to our kids.  He is constantly showering them with gifts.  Recently, he gave them both money … my son for graduating from college, and my… Read More »

Mediterranean Moments

Last week at my mom’s house, we had a “craft day” and played with her stamps.  It’s so much fun to look at someone else’s stash and use goodies I don’t own!!!  Believe it or not, my mom has lots of stuff I don’t have!!! First, I have to digress and give a little back story.  Earlier that week, we were walking through the little mall in Mammoth and ran… Read More »

Watercolor Wedding

My husband and I are going to a wedding for one of his clients soon.  I’m obviously looking forward to the event, but I was also excited to have an opportunity to make a wedding card!  We haven’t had many weddings in our family recently, and wedding cards are one of my favorites to make. This weekend, I wrapped the gift all in silver with lots of glitter and sparkles. … Read More »

When designing each month, I use a combination of current and retired products. … Read More »

Life Is A Beautiful Thing

Life IS a beautiful thing.  I love that saying, because it’s something I truly believe. The other day, I was perusing Pinterest and found a gorgeous, tranquil photo that I wanted to copy.  On the surface, it seems so simple … a beautiful sunset, water, and one chair.  I decided to try to watercolor it. Here’s the photo I found so you can see my inspiration.  I had to change… Read More »

Oh So Eclectic!

My mom visited last weekend, and when we get together, we love to craft!  So not only was she able to attend one of my stamp workshops, but the next day, we had fun stamping and experimenting with new techniques! The card I’m sharing today includes two stamping techniques: 1) the background involves something new that I’ve never tried before, and 2) then I watercolored the flower and stitched circle, so… Read More »
