Picture Perfect

The Picture Perfect stamp set is SUPER pretty.  It has three images that all involve multiple step stamping.  The different stamps work together to create realistic, “picture perfect” results.  I was fascinated by this set when I first saw it.  Then, I saw so many gorgeous cards created with it that I had to give it a try myself. To start out, I searched the internet for photos of hummingbirds… Read More »

What’s even better is that when you purchase particular items from the Occasions catalog, such as the Botanical Gardens Bundle on page 26 you instantly qualify to receive one of the coordinating products in the Sale-A-Bration catalog, such as the Botanicals For You stamp set or Botanical Gardens… Read More »

Looking for Inspiration?

If you’re like me, you need a little inspiration now and then.  I love making cards, but sometimes I run out of ideas!  Well, I’ve found at least one great way to spark my creativity, and that’s to look at fine art. During our recent vacation in Maui, we had an opportunity to visit lots of wonderful art galleries.  One of those galleries was the Jordanne Gallery and Studio in… Read More »

Partial Cut Framelits

For Technique Thursday this week, I have a couple fun ideas to show you.  One involves making a partial cut with framelit dies and the other is simply using a product you may have used in a while. However, before I get started, let me give you a little background on the card I’m making.  One of my son’s best friends, Nels, is turning 21 soon.  I met his mother,… Read More »

Add a Curve!

For Technique Thursday this week, I have a simple technique that you may not think to use.  I simply took my photopolymer stamp and instead of placing it straight on my acrylic block, I bent it into a curve.  This is a huge advantage to photopolymer stamps!  They can bend!!!  Here’s a example below using the Chalk Lines stamp set. My card today features the Watercolor Wings and coordinating Bold… Read More »

Technique Thursday – Double Embossing

Welcome to a new Technique Thursday!  I was playing around with decorative masks and embossing powder, and I discovered a fun technique for creating backgrounds.  This was fairly easy, so I thought I’d share:) I started out with a standard card cut from Soft Sky card stock.  I used the dots decorative mask to apply Versamark ink with a sponge dauber.  Then, I embossed the dots with Clear Stampin’ Emboss… Read More »

Since My Digital Studio is going away, I decided that I would make a concerted effort to create more Project Life scrapbook pages in the future.  I went as far as purchasing the Let’s Get Away Project Life Card Collection and Accessory Pack, as well as the coordinating photopolymer stamps.  However, since I’m still madly designing My Digital Studio pages until the June 2 deadline, the Project Life supplies have… Read More »

March Paper Pumpkin

The March Paper Pumpkin kit is here, and it’s such a cute one!!!  This is definitely one of my favorites, because it features sewing on the greeting.  I’ve loved sewing since I was a little girl, so this brings back fond memories of special times with my mom.  I think she first taught me to sew when I was about 5 years old, and her love of sewing definitely rubbed… Read More »

Lotus Blossom Thank You

Hope you’re having a wonderful weekend!  I have a quick card to inspire you today.  I recently re-discovered Shimmery White card stock.  This paper is really beautiful; it has a slight shimmer to it, but it’s also a nice sturdy weight.  You can watercolor on it, but unlike watercolor paper with its uneven surface, Shimmery White paper also stamps really well.  I used it this month for all of my… Read More »

It’s Paper Pumpkin time!  This month’s kit is really different.  I have to hand it to Stampin’ Up!; the designers are really good at coming up with unique ideas for these kits.  The February kit has supplies for eight thank you cards, but they are accordion cards.  Since the cards are fairly bulky, the kit also includes supplies to make eight boxes to wrap the cards.  I’ll show you the… Read More »
