So Elegant and Detailed!

I have a lot of favorites in the new Occasions Catalog.  One in particular is the So In Love bundle on page 52.  I absolutely LOVE the lacy, delicate So Detailed Thinlits Dies!!!  For my card today, I used one of the pretty border thinlits.

To cut out these thinlits, I recommend using the Precision Base Plate and Big Shot Die Brush.  The plate helps get a nice, clean cut and the die brush helps to remove all those little tiny pieces in a snap.

I cut out one border from Soft Sky cardstock and it didn’t quite reach across my 5-1/2″ wide card, so I cut another out of Very Vanilla cardstock, trimmed off the tabs on the ends, and lengthened the border to reach the edges of the card.  Prior to adhering the border, I used a Sponge Brayer and some Sahara Sand ink to give the border a slight antique look.

The front of my card stops half way down with the lacy border.  (See below for a photo of the opened card.)  I wanted to show the pretty Falling In Love Designer Series Paper that I layered underneath.

One tricky thing I did was cut a third border out of Soft Sky cardstock so I could pop up the label.  I used scissors to cut out the label.  It was a little hard to cut the curves real smooth, so I used some fine sandpaper to smooth the edges.  That worked great.  Then, I used a Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to stamp the label edge just right.

To finish off my card, I added some Pearl Basic Jewels and one of my favorite Sale-A-Bration items, some Gold 3/8″ Metallic Ribbon.  You can earn this ribbon for FREE during Sale-A-Bration by making a qualifying purchase of $50!!!

Happy stamping!
