September Desktop Calendars

By | October 10, 2016

I finished my September 2017 Desktop Calendars!!!!  I had every intention of completing them last month; in fact, I printed the calendar sheets, cut them out, and even had the basic idea designed in my head, but then the month got away from me…

Well, moving on.  For this edition, I used the Falling Flowers stamp set and May Flowers Framelits Dies.  I know you might be saying, flowers again???  But, I really like flowers and this time, I’m watercoloring them, so that’s different.  The Falling Flowers stamp set and May Flowers Framelits Dies come in a bundle for 10% off, and they are one of my favorites.

You’ll notice that I used three different backgrounds, all from the Serene Scenery Designer Series Paper Stack.  Since my calendars are 4″ x 6″, I could only cut four from each design (the paper stack includes four sheets each), so I decided to mix them up and picked different backgrounds with the same general color scheme.  My favorite is this bokeh design paper, but since it’s my favorite, I only had one left!

I stamped the flowers with Basic Black Archival ink on Shimmery White paper, and then watercolored them with an Aqua Painter.  For the large flowers, I started with a light wash of Blushing Bride, and then I added some Sweet Sugarplum to the inside of each petal.  For the medium flowers, I watercolored the petals with Daffodil Delight, leaving some white on the tips.  Then, while the flowers were still wet, I added some Delightful Dijon to the centers and let it bleed.  For the small flowers, I used Sweet Sugarplum for the petals and Delightful Dijon for the centers.

I printed the calendar layer on Shimmery White paper so I could watercolor a light wash of Pear Pizzazz.  After it dried, I stamped the flourish with Old Olive and watercolored some of the design with the same color

To create my banners, I used the Bitty Banners Framelits Dies, which are still available to purchase in the Clearance Rack for only $9.00!  The “September” stamp comes from the December 2015 Paper Pumpkin kit.  If you did not purchase that kit, you can substitute the Project Life Date It stamp set.

I designed the calendar sheets with My Memories Suite software.  To download the September 2017 printable, click HERE.  Print the sheet on 8-1/2″ x 11″ Shimmery White paper with the smallest margins possible with black ink.  Each sheet will make four calendar sheets measuring 3″ x 5″  Cutting instructions are below.
