Retiring Picture Perfect

By | May 5, 2017

This is both an exciting and sad time of year for me.  I get so excited when the new Annual Catalog is coming out!  The new products help inspire my creativity.  And boy oh boy, this year’s catalog will NOT disappoint you!  It is AMAZIMG!!!  I think it’s my all time favorite, seriously!

On the other hand, it’s also time to say good-bye to old favorites.  My card today uses several retiring favorites — the Picture Perfect and From Land to Sea stamp sets, Bermuda Bay Sequin Trim, and Serene Scenery Designer Series Paper Stack.  I just love that starfish!  Can’t help it.  I makes me think of the beach and growing up in Southern California.

On this card, I only used one of the starfish stamps.  (Picture Perfect has two starfish stamps designed for a two-step stamping process.  However, you don’t have to use them that way.)  I stamped it with Soft Suede ink on Crumb Cake cardstock, and then I watercolored a little Blushing Bride ink over the stamped image for just a tad of warmth and depth.  I like the way the watercoloring blurs some of the image.

I also watercolored the lantern from the Land to Sea, as well as the “sand” and Stitched Shape Framelit.  For the sand, I used two strips of Shimmery White cardstock that I tore across the top.  Then, I watercolored them with Crumb Cake and a little Pool Party ink.  Lastly, I splattered them with a little Soft Suede ink by holding my Aqua Painter over the paper and whacking it with a Bone Folder.

For the Stitched Shape Circle, I watercolored with Bermuda Bay and Pool Party ink.

I love, love, love the background paper on this card.  I’ve been hording it all year, just because I love looking at it so much!!!  Ha!  Seriously.  Unfortunately, it’s now sold out.  (I still have one more sheet to use!)  To make it even more weathered looking, I dragged the edges along a Soft Suede ink pad.

If you have any retiring favorites on your wish list, shop quick because they are going fast.  For the most up-to-date list, check out my on-line store.  There’s a whole section on retiring products, many of which are on sale.  There are also great deals on the Clearance Rack.

Have a wonderful weekend!!!
