I decided it was time to break out my Let’s Get Away Project Life Collection and finish some Project Life pages!!! National Scrapbooking Day is May 3rd and Stampin’ Up! is posting loads of creative and inspirational Project Life pages on it’s Home Page. I certainly got inspired!
Additionally, Stampin’ Up! is having a contest! To enter, post your favorite Project Life by Stampin’ Up layouts on Pinterest using #NationalScrapbookDay, #PLxSU, and #(whichever kit you use.) Pages can be standard Project Life in photo pocket pages or traditional layouts using the Project Life products! On Monday, May 4, Stampin’ Up! will pick 20 winners from the new tags to receive a Project Life Card Collection by Stampin’ Up! signed by Becky and Shelli!
The Let’s Get Away Project Life Collection includes beautiful pocket cards (perfect for any vacation), a great accessory pack (including frames, stickers, washi tape, and cute little Crushed Curry epoxy dots that I used on this page to mimic lava), as well as a coordinating stamp set. This is actually page two of a double page spread. I’m showing you page two first because it includes a technique I wanted to focus on today.
I don’t know about you, but I don’t always like sticking my photos in pockets and having square, geometric looking pages. All the pages start looking the same after a while. Well, I did this page to show that there are other options! On this page, I not only cropped photos for variety, but I even cut one photo up into five pieces to split it across the pockets! The overall visual effect still looks like one solid photo. Also, by cutting down some photos and adhering them onto larger photo cards, it gave me room to add some of that pretty washi tape!
For my journaling, I cheated a little. I printed out a few cards from My Digital Studio and used BeckyScript font to write my journaling. I just think it looks so much better than my own handwriting.
I’ll post page 1 on Saturday. I need to spread these out a little. I’m still getting use to designing these pages, so I’m not very quick. Unfortunately, I have a bunch of other designing I need to do this week for Stamp Club and Stamps In the Mail, so I don’t have time for any other projects right now.
Here are the supplies I used on my page:
