You may be a little confused about the title of my blog today. On first glance, this page does not look like it uses the new 2015 Seasonal Snapshots Card Collection, but it does! This goes to show that you can use the 2015 Seasonal Snapshots pocket cards for a lot more than Fall and Holiday pages. But what’s really exciting to me is that I just discovered that the digital version of the 2015 Seasonal Snapshots Card Collection is now available to purchase on Becky Higgins digitalprojectlife.com! I love having the digital versions because they are so versatile, as I’ll explain below.
I’m still working on my Maui album, and I really NEED to finish it, because I want to give this book to my husband for our upcoming 25 wedding anniversary!!! Celebrating this anniversary, although a little early so we could bring the kids, was one of the main reasons we took this vacation. So, I’m working double time and have two pages today!
All the pocket cards in the center of the above page are from 2015 Seasonal Snapshots. I added stamp brushes from some old Stampin’ Up! digital downloads (Boardwalk and On Holiday) to enhance the cards and make them “beachy.” I also used the Freeform tool to erase the word “tradition” from the second card and stamp “vacation” instead. Another cool trick I used on this page was to use the Color Picker Tool. None of the Stampin’ Up! colors really matched the blues on this page, so I used the Color Picker Tool to point to the sky on one of my photos and create my own background. I did a similar thing to match the “vacation” and flip flop stamps to the pocket cards.
While I used digital software to create both my pages today, you could easily do similar pages with physical pocket cards and printed photos.
For digital users, I used The Best Year digital download to crop my pocket card embellishments and round the corners. Also, I used the Simply Life Photo Template download to create a lot of my Project Life templates. For other templates, I created my own with photo boxes by copying the pocket card layouts in the Stampin’ Up! catalog. That way, it makes it really easy to create a page. I simply find the template I want, and copy it.
My next page is pretty simple. My mom and I had so much fun walking around the grounds of our condo taking pictures of all the gorgeous flowers. So, I decided to devote a whole page to just flower pictures! I think the beauty of these photos says enough, there really isn’t a need for fancy embellishments or journaling. I used a pocket card from Happy Times (also available digitally at digitalprojectlife.com) for the wood background of my title. I enlarged and cropped it to fit. “MAUI” is written with Alphabet Soup punches and “flowers” is written with Smitten Alphabet punches.
