My nephew Jon just recently graduated from high school. We all went down to Southern California a couple weeks ago to help him celebrate. I’m so happy for him! He was Valedictorian and will be attending U.C. Berkeley in the Fall.
I asked my sister to send me some photos so I could complete a scrapbook page, and boy did she come through. These are great photos, especially the one on the upper right. I thought it would work perfectly with an inspirational quote. I found this one by Ralph Waldo Emerson, and it seemed just perfect. Jon’s quite a character, as you can tell by the hair. But, he’s also quite accomplished and a deep thinker. I’d say there’s a lot that lies within him, and what we’ve seen so far is probably just the tip of the iceberg.
To complete my page, I used My Digital Studio. However, you could easily do something quite similar with MyMemories Suite or real life pocket cards. I used a lot of elements from the Project Life Happiness Is download. That download includes the banner on the top left, the arrow and flag stamps, and the striped pocket cards. To round the corners of my photo boxes, I simply right clicked and selected Round Corners. Then, I dialed the degree of roundness down to 10. For the pocket cards, it’s was a little more involved. I rounded the corners by cropping the embellishment with a punch from The Best Year digital download. Simply select crop, then select crop shape, and point to the Best Year photo box punch. The “congratulations” stamp is from And Many More, and the “grad” is from Great Grads.
