It’s a new week, and I have three more Project Life pages to share from my Maui book. I’m about 2/3 through my photos, so I’m starting to see the end!!! I need to get this book done and ordered so I can start working on my New York trip. So many photos, and so little time…
This week, I designed the cover page and a double page spread. Since I’ve laid out my whole book, I’ve decided to start completing my pages in twos. That way, I can coordinate the colors and make the book cohesive.
My daughter Shannon thought up the name of our Maui book – Dances with Honus – so I can’t take the credit. I think it’s pretty funny. We were brainstorming ideas one day, and she just spit this out. I thought it was just perfect! We spent so much time on our vacation snorkeling, and every single time we went, we saw at least one turtle or “honu” as the Hawaiian’s say. So the title suits our trip well.
My cover page includes Project Life pocket cards as embellishments under the photo. I used a collection called Summer Themed Cards that I purchased from Becky Higgin’s digitalprojectlife.com. Not only can you purchase all of Stampin’ Up!’s Project Life Card Collections in digital format at that site, you can also purchase others including this one. I particularly like the batik style to these cards. They remind me of Hawaiian print fabrics. The background includes another digital exclusive, an old download called Be Yourself. Also, the pretty font that I used for the title is called Janda Celebration Script.
My other two pages are fairly simple, but that’s OK. Project Life should be simple! Sometimes, pages are as easy as putting in some pictures, finding a few cards and adding some journaling. And, that’s exactly what I did. I used cards from the Moments Like These Card Collection. The soft colors complemented my photos perfectly.
Since these two pages will sit next to each other in my book, I used the same card collection on the next page. I even used the same arrow design to tie in the two pages.
The Moments Like These Card Collection is available to purchase from Stampin’ Up! at my online store, as well as a complete line of albums, photo pocket protectors, and accessories. Or, if you like to create your pages digitally, like I’ve done here, you can purchase those same cards at Becky Higgin’s digitalprojectlife.com.
